Biggsy, ,
I bet those guys you were passing did not think you were going that slow and considering you had cars slowing you down a bit ( who you needed to set up for a pass ), I would say that was a solid run. Sounds like from your post this was your first time there and if that is the case, I would compliment you even more for the initial visit.

Thanks for posting as those of us in the Midwest are just hanging out waiting for snow or frost, ha!

Steveespo,

Thanks for posting, also, and good to see you and your family were a good distance from all the devastation. Tough Tennessee Christmas for many folks and it is welcome news that so many of our TMO members were out of harm's way!
PS - forgot to mention the sound of your Wood Brother's replica ( so appropriate ) is like Viagra for the soul for those of us tuning up the snowblowers.

Bill, my wife called me Saturday evening and she was pretty scared. We only had the rain and some gusty winds but no damage here. The folks near Fort Campbell took some bad hits. We pray for them, people here are too nice to suffer without help.
Donate to the Red Cross, they are always first to respond with relief help.

Echo your concerns, we have the same situation in Nebraska, folks don't ask for help they just all pitch in. Your neighbors are definitely in our prayers. Good that things were ok for you and your family. EF1 ( Eric ) let me know you were likely out of the damaged areas, so your fellow TMO members were already checking up to see if you were safe?

Here's a couple of rain videos. The first, a good session where it's just wet and visibility is good... I was trying to use the throttle exiting T1 and T12 to rotate the car, gather it in, and then go back to full throttle. Varying degrees of success were had.

I even use the curbs in the wet....

Plus, the worst conditions I've ever driven in.... I nearly lost it just before the bridge.

Here's a couple of videos at Road Atlanta... we had varying conditions all weekend, so I put together 4 laps of various wet and greasy conditions.

Here's the only dry session of the weekend. It opens on me having to flash lights and all kinds of nonsense at a 5.0 V8 Mustang that just won't get out of my way, I finally yield to a Corvette, then use his draft... and the session ended with a red flag drill.

And this was a fun wet session with good visibility earlier that very day.

So heres a video more for my own personal fun than anything. I'm sure no one will give it the full undivided attention for 42 minutes, unless its me enjoying my own greatness at a future date.

With a small number of attendees in two run groups, the instructors and advanced run groups end up getting "double sessions" at the end of Saturday and Sunday, meaning at 3:00 and 4:30, 50 minute sessions began, and my status as a classroom instructor made me eligible to run both on both days, and I did!

I ran all 4 50 minute sessions and uploaded session 3 to YouTube. One was interrupted with a black flag all, and the other 3 were great!

Each session had marginally faster average speeds, and I surprised myself running my fastest ever time on these tires in the featured session here... and I was really just working on 3 areas of the track and just subconsciously running the rest on 8 years of instincts...

The grip in turn 9 seemed to get better and let me carry more speed by this session, and oak tree had better grip for braking by sunday as well.

Muscles fatigued that I didnt know I even used in a car. How to focus and what to focus on was key. Feeling the car change was key. Learning where and how much to push was important... hydration and nutrition made it all possible... learning to rest all morning and be ready for a big afternoon was part of it.

So this was the 3rd session. Not quite the fastest, but it features the fastest single lap and fun in traffic. The 4th session saw a nearly as quixk time midway and better average speeds, but was facilitated by less traffic as well.
