You are correct: the hole is not threaded from the factory. I spoke to Ford Performance when installing a rear seat hit in my 2016.The bolts are self-tapping. This is standard provider in mass produced vehicles per the guys at FP.
Hey all, 2016 R owner here. I'm getting the itch to put a few dollars into my ride. I've currently got Maximum Motorsports camber plates, G-Loc R12/R10 pads, and an MGW shifter. I'm wondering what to do next. So, other than seat time and instruction, what's the best performance mod that you've...
I’m running the Porsche spec SC2 up front (102Y vs. 98Y, I think) which has drastically reduced tramlining on the street. Apparently the tread on the 102Y is a bit deeper and the compound a tad harder, so they should last longer.I suspect that the Ford-spec tires are better at the limit, but...
Hey OPMustabg Tim!We'll, the good news for you is that I swapped in my new G-LOC R12 fronts. I tried the 80 grit hand method and it was taking way too long, so I velcroed some 80 grit to my 3" Griots random polisher and went to town. It worked great. I sanded then washed, sanded then washed...
I appreciate the input! If I had another set of OEMs I'd just bring them with me and swap them out at the track. With Caliperfexion studs installed that'd be easy.Since my back up pads are a different compound and I really don't feel like sanding rotors at the track, I feel like I need to...
Appreciate the input. I have some G-LOC R12 pads that I can install. My only hesitation is that I'm not looking forward to sanding the pad material off of the rotors as I switch back and forth.Life is hard :)
I just took my brakes apart with the intent to install Caliperfexion studs and new G-LOC R12 pads. I got the studs in, but given how much pad is left on these guys I'm tempted to leave them as is for next Saturday's track day at COTA.Would you more experienced guys agree that these have lots...
Thanks for the advice, all!OPMustang Tim, I ordered a set of front G-LOC R12s from you. I feel like I should have ordered a set of rear R10s too!Do you guys clean the OEM material off of the rotors when putting in different compound pads? And remove the other material when reinstalling OEM pads?
I'm taking my GT350R to COTA on 6/11 for my 5th track day (3rd on the GT350R). The OEM pads have 2000 miles on them including 9 ~30 minute track sessions MSR Houston. Given COTA's reputation for being rough on brakes, I'm going to replace the front pads. I will be using the stock carbon fiber...
I've been thinking about that as well. Might you have any pictures of your setup?I'm also thinking about getting the headliner out of a wrecked car and cutting a hole in it. An extra inch will make all the difference.
Do you happen to know if I can ditch the stock sliders and mount the stock Recaros to the floor? I'd imagine some adapter is required to get the seat in the right spot.
Hey track rats, I need your help.I've got an HPDE scheduled for January and have my Simpson Super Bandit helmet ready to go. This will be my first HPDE in the Shelby.I'm 6'4" with a ~35" inseam. I fit great in the GT350R Recaros without a helmet, but with the helmet on I have to recline the...
