I ran 325's on 11.5 Apex SM-10's on my Bullitt. 35mm spacer front, 5mm rear. would get a little tire rub on outer front fenders at VIR. No matter what size tire you are running, I'd go with same ET so you can rotate them with ease
Thanks you very much for the feedback. Nothing beats actual track experiences. This solidifies my decision.I ran DTC70/60's on my previous track toy, ie, modded BMW 135i. My 135i was used for dual-duty but the suspension setup left to be... (see full post)
Yes, I am still on the same 70/60 set up. The pad wear is pretty even between the front and rear. Have a new set of pads and rotors for the front sitting in my office ready when needed. Will just need pads for the rear when ready. I am surprised...
The goodyears 305’s run as wide the r7’s in a 315.im running 325/30/19 3r’s on my ‘21 500 all around but i cant give the backspacing on the 19x12 forgelines we’re running since its proprietary. We did run a 30mm spacer up front to see if we...
For individuals who feel the GS1 doesn't have enough bite on the street for them, I've seen people mention they run R6s instead. Since it's an autocross compound, it's designed to work from dead-cold like street pads. They note R6s are used in...
No problems swapping, also concur. Maybe just use 80 grit to scrub off the bedded stuff before putting the track pads back on. What I noticed after a track day is, the R12/R10 pads were not that bad dust-wise compared to prior Hawk DTs
There was no defection from Carbotech, just two brothers from the family that owned Carbotech decided to go on their own. Both are solid products, pretty darn easy on pads , but in my years of selling and using both pads make sure you get them...
On the brakes thing, you'll get a lot of folks giving you advice on the latest and greatest track pads, so stand by. There are lots of "track day" pads out there now, many are value-priced and most work pretty well, although the problem with...
Thanks to James Clay for sharing this video, where he talks about a very simple way to test wheel spacers with a piece of paper. Do this to ensure your spacers are seating correctly and are far less likely to break wheel studs and have a wheel...
Two years later - are you still a fan of the DTC70/60 combo for your GT? I will take delivery of my 2022 mach1 HP in a week or so, and be hitting the track on 100-240 treadwear 305/315 tires about a month later. Im hesitating between a Hawk 70/60... (see full post)
My OEM pads last me 4+ days. I do have brake cooling in place. I've yet to replace the OEM rotors, though I have a spare set ready and waiting as the rotors have some surface checking. Free pads are great, but not if they cost me more in rotor...
I would give G-Loc a call and I have found over the years to recommend one always get G-Locs or Carbotechs pre-bedded. The Mustang is a heavy car and I suggest customers always tell the folks they are buying pads from to let them know where they...
to be fair I use Gloc R10/R8 and my OEM pads on the same rotors for 2nd season don't know why this requirment is but the OEM rotors are not very expensive so I just don't bother when they are done they are done. Also my GLoc pads are wearing great.
That is great result congratulation on your CAMC win I can't wait for my SM-10's to arrive though hopefully the 305/30 will work with OEM PP1 suspension with Steeda CC plates ordered ET26 SM-10's so I hope will not need APR Studs but we will see...
