Looking at getting a Mach 1 or a GT 350 for a dual purpose car and I’m a halfway decent advanced group driver.

if I get the GT 350 I’m going to send it to RPG down in Fresno to have them go through it, but I can’t decide if that involves switching it to a cross plane crank set up or upgrading some of the parts that seem to fail on the voodoo. otherwise I’ll just get a mach 1 and have them put intake cams and maybe ported heads and call it good. I want stress-free five years ish of ownership without issues. Is a rebuilt voodoo reliable enough to do this ? I have a friend that blew up two stock voodoo’s at laguna but I love how they look. I do about seven or eight track days per year. Which one are you going with?

Read this, there should be enough feedback in this previous post to help you decide.

Thanks for the link. So definitely not a voodoo but what about getting the gt350 and have RPG do a voodoo delete taking the 5.2 to a coyote 5.2 :hmmm: Gt350’s are now 40k on autotrader

The inexpensive Mach 1 for sale are all non HP cars and I would be putting apex wheels on anyways so I figured non HP car was the move.

My '23 Mach 1 was non-HP and it was fine as a track day car. All I added was a set of cheap camber plates to get the camber closer to 2.5-3 and a set of Apex wheels so I could run square 305s. The HP version was just not available at any dealer in the province I live in.
Regardless of that, If you're looking for a balls out banzai car, then get yer cheque book out, even the HP cars need help.

Why even go through the hassle, just find a Mach 1 with the Handing Package, a six speed, and call it good.
I agree with Bill as I track my mach1 HP about 10 to 12 events a year since 2022 with 30 events total to date. Just your consumables like pads, tires and fluid changes is all I’ve had to maintain the car for track duty.
