I see i might have burned through my trofeos in 8 session probably have some more but got 2 days coming up and may want to bring my takeoffs from my Bullitt as spares vs buying a new set the rears are pretty thin past “recommended”
tread depth but for track what is a min tread depth? Seems like less tread depth may be advantageous on dry track conditions? Also they are 20” rims what a good tire pressure cold? Or i might buy new tires hate to travel and burn out my tire i see these mustangs are tire eaters lol

TIA

Assume on a track situation tread depth not that important? Doesn’t look like my tires and wheels set will arrive in time and my trofeos may not last 2 more days thinking bringing these just in case i need something for the last day. First world problems i know. These came on my bullitt and since pulled them off as i don’t like the wheels. Might as well burn up the tires……

Make sure you have decent negative camber up front as the PS4s will chew out the outside edge if pressure is not optimal and you are on a track with some slow, tight corners.

Thanks for the reply I got the max so far out of it. I went ahead and bought some wheels with PS4’s as a spare set hope they wear ok lol. If not try something else

Question: how often should you rotate staggered side to side during track sessions? After each session or two or each day or each weekend checking the tires for wear?

For track tires, tread depth is irrelevant. You'll know you need new track tires when one of two things happens.
1 - they heat cycle out (become hard and pace falls off)
2 - cords show

For pressures: gage by hot pressure, not cold pressure. There are many variables at play here but 30-34psi hot is a good starting point.

8 sessions over 2 days. Tires still got some life in them just not sure if i’ll make it through 8+ more next week. Great tires though i’ll probably buy again got another set of wheels and tires coming and an old set for spares. I’ll feel better with the extra tires on the trailer tire carrier in any case. The PS4 will be different to the trofeos but maybe last longer we shall see. In any case this is an expensive hobby lol

And if i dont like the PS4’s wont be long till i’ll need another set. Really wish i could get an 18” rim on this car and use the takeoffs like others in the club

Will feel better driving on the street with PS4’s not that i drive it much. Got the PS run flats on the Bullitt for daily driving/road trips not sure i’d get those again but lasting pretty good and my place in the mountains gets below 45 and freezing half the year so with those fancy tires no bueno in snow and ice 😂

I had to store the DH at my place in the valley as you can’t store the soft tire below freezing or it’s not recommended. At least that’s what i am told and makes sense.

So many good first world problems 🤠

Also, please post a detailed analysis of the differences tracking with Trofeo RS and PS4S.
Will do. Pulling the trofeos off the car today to rotate and inspect brakes etc finally. My new pads have not arrived so i’m hoping these are still ok (stock pads). Or i’ll go to the dealer and get a set just in case. Interested to see the brake pads.

At Radford (ne bonduraunt) they intentionally use street tires on most of the cars as the philosophy was to learn with street tires. Can’t remember why but ran slicks on the F4 cars that was fun. I can tell the trofeos are sticky by the amount of junk that gets stuck to them

Interesting. Looks like i’ll try and find those at some point $100 a tire a way more affordable option
