Picked up some new wheels to fit new calipers. Was hoping to get some more HPDE time in on the Contis that came with the car. But no such luck. New tires needed now. Speed is intermediate HPDE. Brakes are 4 pot brembos with track day pads. 2011 coyote with stock engine and mild suspension. Street to track driving. Tire class in 200-300 wear range. Size is square 285/35/19. Priorities:
Cheap- Still early in this build, so need a tire to learn with.
Consistent grip- Something with a decent sweet spot and won’t fall apart with heat.
that’s about it. Not so concerned with peak grip as long as it is summer tire level. I know about the class favorites like PSS or PS4s. RS4 another choice if available. But what else is out there? Everyone usually has that tire recommendation that is cheap, sticky enough and surprising for what it is. What is yours?
