Maybe a stupid question here but I have never driven in an autocross. What sort of speeds are you driving when you are in turns? Will a wing make any difference?

In theory, wings should start being effective down to 30mph or so, or whenever meaningful airflow starts passing over/under it. But whether thats a worthwhile investment for AutoX is a different conversation

I'm not deeply involved in AutoX but I do know a lot of classing rules can determine what is/isn't allowed for wings, especially the position of where they're mounted.

All depends on the location and set up I’ve done auto x events where we’re over 100mph for a short bursts and I’ve done some where you don’t really get over 55 but anywhere from 30-to 70 mph is the normal range and from what I’ve seen while it won’t produce as much downforce as on track at those speeds it’s still producing downforce even at slower speeds

Rear spoiler may be added, but may extend no more than 10.0" from the original body nor past the perimeter of the body. That’s the only rule for me towards it so I have a good bit a freedom to do whatever and aero actually makes a good difference with auto x when set up properly yes it won’t be as efficient as what it is with track speeds but effective nonetheless

With that 10" parameter I think the standard wings out of the box like 9LR, Verus UCW, G stream, AJ Hartman, etc. will all exceed that. I believe AJ Hartman and maybe 9LR will build custom mounts for specific rules if you tell them. Outside of those Steeda has a low profile wing as well as the GT500 CFTP wing

the 9lr wing and stuff like that is legal just cause ik some guys that run that wing the way they have the rule written is a little weird to my knowledge there’s no height limits or anything like that the wing can’t just extend past the car 10 inches if your looking at it from above in any way so atleast I would assume just cause I’ve seen them used before the 9lr wing is legal and I actually really like that wing I was just wonder what else is also out there and people’s experiences

And just for example granted it attached to a questionable choice in car but that’s a of class legal wing for my class

If the rules ever change and they start caring about height, I just checked mine and the top of the aerofoil is just about 14.5” above the trunk, the furthest point away (rear of the aerofoil to the center of the trunk lid) is 16”, and looking straight down the rear of the aerofoil is just about 2” further back than the center of the bumper

It is not the only rule - you missed this :

For all classes EXCEPT CAM-T, a rear wing may be added, removed,or modified. Endplates are allowed. No portion of the wing or its may be more than 6.0” forward of the rear axle or more than 6.0” beyond the rear most portion of the bodywork. For sedans, coupes, and trucks no part of the wing or its components may extend more than10.0” above the roofline. For hatchbacks, wagons, and SUVs no partof the wing or its components may extend more than 14.0” above theroofline. No part of the wing may extend beyond the OE vehicle width as defined by the outermost portion of the OE bodywork including mirrors, door handles, rub strips and trim. The maximum number of non OE wing elements is two (2). The total surface area of rear wings shall not exceed 8.0 sq. ft. as calculated per the Wing Area Computation inSection 12 of the Solo Rulebook. Except for standard parts, wings designed to be adjustable while the car is in motion must be locked in a single position.• All commercially available wings, splitters, air dams, and diffusers thatare vehicle model specific and installed per the manufacturer’s directions are permitted with the following exclusions:– Rear wings are not permitted on CAM-T.

In reality, your choice is between 9LR (aluminum, relatively cheap) and places like AJ Hartman or Zebulon (great looking and well designed carbon wings, expensive).

9LR aluminum is the best bag for the buck. You can add the 2nd element to match the performance of their carbon wing for much less. All of these make 100-225lbs of downforce between 60-80 with a single element. AJ's makes another 30-50% more Df but costs more.

I run AJs Fulcrum 14. Well since I’m still going through an engine rebuild, I have it installed lol.

AJ can design custom uprights to your request or class rules. I had him do custom uprights for me because I preferred the looks of the ones he does for the Camaro platform and I did 5” set back for Max (SCCA TT) class rules.
