New guy here just getting into HPDE and working to get more seat time. I'm having a blast. My car is a 2016 GT with performance pack and spoiler delete.

Should I be thinking about basic aero at this point in my journey? I'm curious if a chin spoiler, trunk spoiler, or other minor changes would improve high-speed stability.

No.

Get some extra experience under your belt.
Then evolve with the car.on top
Of driver mod.
In order :
First mod. Bigger and better tires. Better pads . Cooling. Lots of cooling. And cooling again. Lol

some stiffer springs and sway bars. Then aero.

My sentiment - until you're four-wheel drifting everywhere, you don't need aero. Like many, I put aero on before I needed it - didn't help me get much faster. Getting in a Miata and on a driving sim did that. Aero makes it harder to find the limit and get comfortable there. Plus, tuning gets a lot harder because it impacts so much of car setup.

Ale put you on the right track. Tires/brakes are also the best place to start. Coilovers over stiffer/springs/sway bars if you're going to take it far. I do think many of us try to make setup of springs and sway bars last longer than we should. But coilovers arent needed until youre running slicks, imho
