S550 Driving without TPMS

2016. Will the car be limited without TPMS sensors installed on a set of track wheels?

I’ve heard that drive modes may be restricted but can’t find a definitive answer. I did a search here but found conflicting information.

Hoping to hear from someone with firsthand experience. Thanks.

I don't have your answer, sorry, but why not just run the TPMS sensors and avoid this issue entirely?

Thanks. I bought some dedicated track wheels and tires that are already mounted, without TPMS. I’m wondering if I have to go through the trouble of adding TPMS to them.

Will TPMS prevent track mode?

I’m not running TPMS sensors on my slicks. I’m not able to change to the different modes. My car is stuck at normal mode. I’m wondering if the TPMS error code is preventing switching to a different mode?If anybody has experienced this I would appreciate feedback.Sent from my iPhone...

Thank you. I saw that thread as well but found it inconclusive. One person said it’s a problem and one person said it’s not.

LOL, yeah, like I said, I don't have your answer, but I thought I would pass along that thread, since it discussed the issue. I take it you have not yet mounted the wheels and tires and tried to put the car in track mode?

2017, never had a problem. The light does come on at some inopportune times but has no effect apart from being annoying. Have multiple sets of track wheels with no sensors.
