I'm really late to this thread, but I saw your suspension setup this morning in the "understeer" thread, and when TeeLew mentioned you had all the horsepower I came over to take a look.
I see you run a Whipple and you track the car, which raises some questions that I did not see answered on your build thread. What do you do to reduce the coolant and oil temperatures? I see your intercooler setup is listed for cooling off the air intake temperature, but I did not see anything about upgraded cooling for the oil or the coolant.
Also, what sort of coolant and oil temperatures do you see, and how long can you stay out on track?
I run a setrab proline STD 72 row oil cooler for the engine oil. I run 35 row for each the transmission and differential with tilton pumps. It is the standard PP1 radiator with stewart EMP water pump, 185 thermostat. I do my own engine tuning so I set the fan cycles up. My oil temp on a 85-90 degree day can get to 230. I have different tunes for different conditions. I also have 100 and 110 octane tunes which really allow the car to run strong for 30 minute sessions no problem.
You run a Whipple supercharged Coyote for 30 minutes on the stock radiator and run 30 minute sessions?
Surprising (amazing).
I know you set up the fans, but once you are going on the track fans should not matter. 185 thermostat, but, again, by the end of lap one, that should not matter, either, and the coolant should have shot way past 185 already.
Your oil temperature at 230 maximum is great! You make me want to upgrade my Dark Horse's oil cooler to the Setrab (although I never considered the smaller 1 series since the GT4 Mustangs are running the 9 series 60 row and are like 55 degrees hotter than your car)
What is your maximum coolant temperature, or CHT (I don't know what 2017 cars read for temperature - I drive an S650, so it shows CHT only)?
You are the first person with a Whipple on a Coyote I have encountered on the forums who can track for 30 minutes without overheating. Sorry for all the questions. I am trying to figure out what you are doing differently.
