On a race weekend, if the weather does not call for rain during the race, the smartest move is to not run.Getting water under the tyre at speed is not a fun ride. The other question is, if its that wet, what are you doing out on track.
If it's full wet conditions, you might let the driver out for a couple recon laps if he doesn't have any rain time, but you take no chances. If it's predicted to be wet for the race, you run and challenge the grip.
It NEVER makes sense to run in mixed drying conditions.
