I was daydreaming before.......you're allowed to do that when you're retired, by the way, and a phrase crossed my mind about when you got nothing you got nothing to lose. I couldn't remember where I heard that from, so I googled it and lo and behold here's what popped up.................

Anytime I hear the name Eleanor, I think of the SNL skit riffing on The McLaughlin Group that contains the line "Eleanor, gee I think you're swell-anore!"

Those of a certain age (and TV viewing habits) will realize the SNL skit wasn't as much of a stretch as the average person may think. McLaughlin would regularly use nicknames like Freddy "The Beetle" Barnes, and Goodman's laid-back slouch (and I think extra padding) nails Germond. And each segment really was introduced with the "Issue N" tag line. If you watch the topic segment cued up, you'll see a lot of the grist for the SNL skit, and in a bizarre turn of reference point, mention of Dana Carvey on SNL.
