Hi, here in Chile I have one of the very few manual Mustangs, and one of two bosses! But my buddy has a 2013 GT automatic and he wanted to change to a sequential box. Would Liberty Gears be the place to go?? Any other ideas for a road race worthy auto box?

EMCO and Hollinger are popular options for those that can afford it. But we're talking in the $25K USD range for just the transmissions alone. It is likely you will need a custom driveshaft as well, but if you can afford the sequential, another $800 USD for a custom shaft shouldn't be a problem.

I know a guy that used to post on here from New Zealand had a Hollinger in his 302S.

Another cool thing about the sequentials is that the final gear of the 6 forward gears is 1:1, so you can accelerate VERY quickly because you have more forward gear ratios to work through and keep the engine in the powerband.

We are kinda kind of nuts....But not that nuts!! I saw Libertygears had a box for a lot less, would that be a valid option? http://www.libertysgears.com/clutchless.htm

Its because we have very few cars racing that everthing is so expensive! no volume!

Not sure if I'd call that a "true" sequential, but it's really close for a lot less money!

Here is an EMCO unit teardown: http://ls1tech.com/forums/manual-transmission/1621068-close-look-lg-motorsports-emco-sequential-gear-box.html
As I understand it, true sequentials are shifted via a channeled/grooved "drum" that selects each ratio. Basically just very large motorcycle transmissions.
