This thread reads differently if you go back and read it with the perspective of hindsight. Lots of predictions and comments about political things that almost always turn out to be wrong but felt so "right" at the time when the post was made.

The thread started on October 17, 2017.

A person staring with $0, who invested only $1000 a month into an S&P 500 index fund, with reinvestment of all dividends, would have $187,000 in that account today. That is 7 years, which is 84 months, so only $84,000 of contributions are in that $187,000. <--- It's like magic.

It has been a very good run regardless of which party was in the White House, regardless of covid and the economy shutting down temporarily, regardless of almost 10% inflation at one point, regardless of the Fed hiking interest rates, regardless of just about any factor you want to throw in that might have affected the outcome.

BTW, $5000 a month, for those of you higher income folks, would be $710,000 today. Not bad starting from $0 in late 2017.

If it was automated, it wouldn't have wasted all that time seeking and imprecise movements, and could reduce down the bottlenecking bloat time between steps as they improve precision, and fire off cycle after cycle faster and faster until hitting new walls.

Elon is a f***ing idiot who cons people who think he's some tech messiah. Kinda like thinking you're a genius in some subject because you took a few 200 level courses on it, just because your friends are uneducated on the topic, whereas somebody who has taken/taught 400-500 level courses on it walks the line between laughing at the utter ridiculousness of it all or trying to educate somebody who thinks that putting a spoon on their arm means they got 5G from a Covid shot.

Look at the arms and neck. Notice the spandex? If it was a robot, they could have made the neck a 1" diameter pole, but that'd make it so humans couldn't fit inside. The muffled voice is coming from inside, from somebody trying their best to act as an android would. If you see that more-or-less cosplay suit and think it's a robot and worthy of an investment, I can give you wholesale pricing on pet rocks, just give me a few days to gather up your initial investment of as little as 1000 rocks.

Fair enough, and best of luck to you. I've been doing well shorting him, but with them being high gamma doesn't mean you couldn't be on the other side buying longs.

The Pat Rock (not to be confused with Pet Rocks) should be coming out later this fall in time for the holiday season.
