How much life are in these before a rebuild is needed?

Thats a good question. Those electric motors are subject to alot of heat. But I would say if designed right it should be fine. They do look very simple to change in case of a failure. Only problem is, what's the cost of just a motor and do they sell just a motor?
They are Cool and nice to have to be able to control the exhaust sound at the flip of a switch.

These are nearly new, used for less than 3 months, and the car was driven maybe 200 -300 miles in that time? They're 100% tested, and show no signs of fatigue regarding the motors.

Let me know!

The motors are probably just a cheap can brushed motor. Unless that price is for the motor and houding it seems high. If you can get the motors out a replacement should be real cheap. $65 is like a high quality rc motor. A guy i know claims to have used some cheap Traxxas motors for his.
