If the TC/ABS light is flickering I'm getting a heads up that I am over driving the car and that's not fast. Keeping the tires always hooked up is the goal, IMHO.
Except on dirt.
If the TC light isn't flickering a little bit on corner exit, you're not going fast enough! I don't care for the stabililty control. It's poorly tuned and kills corner entries, because it's always trying to straighten you out on the brakes. I haven't found having just the T/C on to be all that detrimental to lap times. It tends to be too abrupt and hold on too long, so it's definitely worth a couple tenths, but it's never worth as much as I want it to be.
