@blacksheep-1 your thoughts on removing fender liners? Is this okay/safe to do?

I am starting to get a flapping noise at 30+mph and I can't seem to figure out where it is coming from. I will try to, but was curious if removing fenderliners + adding fender vents (racelouvers) is a good idea on a street-able HPDE car.

I wouldn't all of our Mustang Challenge cars have them and I believe the Gt4s as well. When you remove them it sets up some unique aerodynamic effects. If you do remove them, you're going to have to duct that air out someplace in the fender area before the door. Fabman s build has a great section on this. He has basically ducted the air through the fender and outside.

Yes I was planning on setting up my louvers exactly like his. Or even like Flyhalfs.

Been a hot minute but new update, as the test subject for this project…

V6 MUSTANG S550 REAR BRAKE UPGRADE, WHAT DO YOU NEED? This is for vented GT brake upgrade, for if you have already upgraded your fronts to the 4 or 6 piston vented non-inverted hat rotors.

You need these:

https://www.opmustang.com/store/p395/2015__S550_Mustang_J&M_Stainless_Steel_Brake_Hose_Kit_-_Complete_Vehicle.html#/

To make this happen:f313d24f-4ce3-48fc-96ff-41afc7ef82aa-jpeg.jpg

Glorious! YES THIS IS A STRAIGHT BOLT IN. The kit is missing the brake line screw, so you will need to use the OLD ONE FROM THE ORIGINAL CALIPERS. Make sure to use NEW washers from your stainless steel line kit!!!

The item The Cobalt Filly has been updated:

Rear Brakes upgraded (if upgrading rear brakes on a base model mustang, pm/dm for information on what you need, I can help out) and in the process of getting pro photos edited!

Always takes me a while to come around with some dough for upgrades...but upgrades we shall have before Sept. 19, my next track day. I love sales. Got LC Arms (with extended ball joints) and bump steer correction kit last month...sitting here waiting for the above stuff to come now. Then alignment.... and a coolant drain/replenish with 2 bottles of water wetter added.

Been another long hiatus…and might be another one soon. Life is coming after me in a very good way…

Got the Steeda install done along with many other parts (some from my new friend @1 old racer ).
Switched over to 315 Michi PS4s.
Got a new serpentine belt and coolant flush with one bottle of water wetter in (regret doing that since I will have to change coolant next year :/). Oh well, lesson learned.
Currently waiting for a new shifter setup to come to make my auto look less tacky. And also waiting for a new alignment.

The future Mrs. Filly took pics of the car for me. She supports my hobby so I will be a happy married man, that’s for sure.

Meanwhile, I have taken much of DFB5.0's advice posted on Mustang6G into consideration over the past year, learned on my own as well, and opened up my own mobile Auto Detail as my side business. I hope to fund the track car build by this and so far profits are through the roof.

Well definitely one of my most stupid mods…but damn it, I like it. GT350 shifter boot with a billetworkz auto conversion kit and a Ford Racing shifter knob. Judge away my friends, judge away…it’s comfortable as all hell to rest my fat hand on. Finally got rid of that crappy plastic shifter that always rattled and those stupid PRNDS lights.

Called them today, they said that it was a “modified vehicle” and they wouldn’t cover it. They said it was “modified” due to missing two cylinders, no idea where they went though! 🤔

It's been a while since I gave you an update. Well...I saved up for something tasty that I know you will all enjoy. I present to you all what took me two days and using our shop's lift up and down 21 times to install:

Ladies and gentlemen, I have a roll-cage. Do I get to officially say its a track car now? Anyways, in the second picture you can also see my rear diffuser from Verus Engineering. Classy stuff here.
And in the following pics, Power Tank (the company I worked for) released a new quick release combo kit for fire extinguishers....so I had to put one on the cage.

@honeybadger @Fabman and @flyhalf for all their valuable input and help so far, including their recommendations for this roll cage.

Well well well...

I'm back again with another update. This one is big.

I would like to announce my new sponsor, Switch-Pros! If you are looking for a 8-switch electrical panel that is made in the USA, can connect to your phone, is highly customizable, and has super-detailed instructions, then you need to check them out. Plus, it looks super clean. I will be installing within the next few months, just waiting on more parts to arrive. https://www.switchpros.com/ Shown is just the main brains that goes in your engine bay. Slick.

Ordered a watsonracing radio delete panel with hopes of integrating it there with a quadlock setup ipad. We shall see how this goes, might have to major changes, but a start is a start!

The recaro seat from @Fabman has been sitting in my office...biding its time. PCI mount is on the way so that can get put in as well.

Sunday I got the fender louvers from Race Louvers installed in just under 3 hours. Crazy how clean it looks, despite me messing up three rivets and needing to fix them later on...
thumbnail_image1.jpgthumbnail_image2.jpgthumbnail_image3.jpg

Got it all done in front of the Power Tank warehouse...good times. Blew all the crud off and out of the fenders using my shop 20lb Power Tank. Worth it.

And last but certainly not least...I will be detailing her tomorrow so she can get started on her vinyls....more to come on that soon. New emblems also are en route, Chrome and Black instead of the Red and Black. Upgrades people, upgrades...

Stay tuned, my mustang brothers!

My office at my house...and my office at work...are starting to get cluttered with car parts boxes.
Maybe I should start installing them more quickly.
The more I work -> the more car parts I can afford -> the more car parts I can buy -> the less time I have to install them -> the less live-able space I seem to have -> the more I spend time at work -> the more I work ->...
Anyone get the cycle yet?

Moving on...
The radio delete is installed! I don't know how many lbs down, not much but anything is good to me at this point before I REALLY let loose...maybe @Albino500 wants another car to slice into. The switch panel isn't fully wired in yet, as you can see the communication is on the passenger floorboard right now, up in there somewhere is where the main switchboard will be, but I can at least mount my phone now too for track timing purposes (ipad mounted for reference point, have to add a little extender to the quadlock to make it fit, but phone works perfect - stock paneling once added in makes space too tight).

@flyhalf informed me of a useful tool called APEX PRO LLC. I got the OBD reader portion, and will get the GPS module next year. Excited for that!

Now I just need time to do differential fluid flush, trans oil pan drop flush, trans cooler upgrade install, finish modifying a set of OEM Ford Performance TPMS sensors to work with APEX Wheels Low Clearance Valves, finish the wrap and graphics, get a Switch Pros vinyl...

The work is never truly going to finish, is it?

Carefull of what you ask for...
If Fabman trusts you with a saw blade (I've read/heard what you did to his "street car")...then feel free to BYOB (Bring Your Own Blades).

I'll second that too....
