TO answer your question... the way this is done is through a "campaign"... No money is charged unless the campaign reaches its goal.
Once the Goal is reached, Orders are charged and the items are produced and shipped.

50 Items must be sold to produce the shirts, otherwise no money is charged to you.

Think of it as a "Sure Thing"... If it does't reach the goal, you don't get the item, but are not charged for it... if it reaches the goal, then you get the item you ordered... The higher the "Goal" the cheaper the price of the item... however, the harder it is to reach that goal...

Make sense? This runs for 19 more days... so tell your friends or family that might be interested in this shirt... We will have more coming up soon!
