Just wondering if anyone has run into the connecting rod starting to get some surface rust on it, and if there is anybody that has found a permanent coating for keeping it from happening. thanks!
Assuming it's just light rust, some medium steel wool should take it off. A light coating of "3-in-1" -type light oil, or Tetra gun oil should protect it pretty well. For more permanent protection, unbolt it from the base and spray the rod with some clear coat or clear urethane (de-grease it first).
When you complete Track Attack class you get an award, like a trophy, it's an actual Boss 302 piston and connecting rod on a base with a metal plate with your name and the date.
