Track Wheels for 2022 GT500

Hey Folks (First post!)

I'm brand new here. And I also just got a GT500 CFTP. I'm having a very hard time getting service done on it with the CF wheels. My local dealer and my local shop won't touch them. Anyway, I was going to get some track wheels anyway and I'd like some recommendations on what works great on this car? I know I'd only go with Forged but I'm not sure what brands/models are right for this car.

I also am seeing some conflicting info online about the size of the OEM wheels for this car. I THINK they are:

20x11.0 +32 (front)
20x11.5 +48 (rear)

But I've seen it as +26 front and +50 rear too.

So what do you guys run on the GT500 for good, strong, track wheels?

The +32/+48 back spacing is correct for the carbon fiber rims. The OEM aluminum rims are 20x11 +32/+50.

Have the same problem getting the carbon fiber rims serviced. I’m running the stock aluminum rims on the track. They’re inexpensive, easy to have tires changed, and extremely durable (GT500 Track Attack uses them). They are a bit on the heavy side though.

Billy Johnson, the pro race driver that did the qualification testing for the GT500 and late production GT350, explains that light aluminum rims bend more than heavy ones, and that heavy aluminum rims bend more than carbon fiber rims. The more they bend, the more camber you have to run. Interesting reading.

Virtually no one is running carbon fiber wheels in competition, it's the first thing they get rid of. None of the cars that I've been around are homologated with them either, just too many problems.

I have a set of 6GR and Apex, the 6GR were cheaper, around 2400/set, strong, but heavier and just rotary formed. Apex forged are around 3500 on sale now.
