I'm thinking of getting this car hauler or one like it.
I was a tow truck driver 30yrs ago, I've hauled a zillion motorcycles and I've had a few cars in enclosed trailers. But I have never used a flat bed like this before. My question is, how do you tie it down? I can think of 50 different ways. But nothing I'm feeling warm and fuzzy about. Unlike an enclosed the anchor points aren't on the floor so you're going to have a hell of an angle on the straps trying to tie into the D slots in the wheel wells without getting into the bodywork. I'm thinking maybe soft ties wrapped around something front and rear. I haven't looked hard up front but I imagine the K member has a bunch of places you could use. The rear on the other hand is all suspension arms, half shafts and no axle.
Are any of you using a flat bed like this? How are you securing your car.
