True, but keep in mind who was driving the Phoenix car and how prepped that car is. That's a couple seconds easy. Id love to see a side-by-side of those two laps. I'll bet AJ is on the edge a lot more, tho.

I guess I should clarify...the S550 platform will be the faster platform for most drivers...it's easier to drive quickly because it's better setup.
No arguments there. Just pointing out the very specific GT4 in question.

Oddly enough, apart from the obvious talent of the driver. From what we read here, the only major mechanical thing different in the phoenix car is the $hocks. No SLA, and mostly basic Ford Performance stuff.

…and things like the STOCK rubber upper trailing arm!

also don’t forget the Areo. One nice thing about HPDE…unrestricted aero. Unrestricted tires. Unrestricted weight. That’s the stuff ‘missing’ from the OP’s Option 1. Kinda like racing in Chile. 😉

Also gonna point out that an Ecoboost S550 would be a good, cheap option
