The s197 Boss 302 is a great car but the S550 Mach 1 is light years ahead in development.
If you really want to the best handling Boss 302 then get in touch with Cortex Racing. (see full post)
I could use some advice from people who have driven and built both cars.I have a 2012 Boss 302, and I've already swapped in a Tremec T56 Magnum XL. I'm at the point where I'm asking myself if I should trade it for a Mach 1 or just keep...
I could care less about the premium cluster at this point. My V6 is a base, and just fired up the cluster on the GT pallet and the cluster is the same. For the sake of the swap, I'll keep my cluster, clock spring and keys. Get the pedal assembly... (see full post)
@steveespo can you share the link to the DHR tech bulletins/approved mods document? That would probably be a great starting point here. (see full post)
I was askin Hon the other day, Hey Good Lookin, Whatcha got there cookin? And she replied "Nothin Aerosmith got on the stove!!!!!!!!,,,,, (see full post)
I remember the day I got back in the Boss after my rehab.........and wondered how was I gonna get back out????????......sometimes your fears/worries are much more greater than they should be.........Amen to that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (see full post)
I'm planning to get a one piece aluminum driveshaft for it.I know the pallet didn't come with a premuim cluster, so I might just keep my V6 one in there. My plan is to get the v6 on the pallet once I get it out and the V8 in, and make the V6... (see full post)
I'm still trying to wrap my head around what absolutely needs to be transferred from my pallet donor to the V6 chassis to make the Coyote work right.
I've learned that I don't need:
Body harness, and cowl harness
Fuel tank and pump
Don't... (see full post)
Autocross cars are mostly a point n shoot affair for Mustangs, however..the road course guys use something in the area of 600 fronts, 350 rear springs, the Ford blue bar up front, 18mm or no bar in the rear, at least 3 plus on camber, all the... (see full post)
Lots of cooling threads to pick up info from on this site. I Know European drivers are a little adverse to running wide rubber but 285/35-19 is way to narrow for a tracked mustang. I would start at 305 and go up if possible. Your track times... (see full post)
all great info! I do worry that I struggle more with my driving skill then the car being setup poorly.as far as course optimization I hear you and I also worry that I am not the best at course design and proper race line understanding. I am... (see full post)
Toe is a 'salt-to-taste' setting which will vary based on tire & driver. I think a little toe-in gives a little better mid-corner front grip (on B'stones). Other people go for toe-out, which will tend to give a touch more initial response... (see full post)
I will share my settings that are working for my car as I love sharing them:F: -3.2 Camber (this actually wear tires on the inside because of Highway driving), -2.5 mm Total Toe-Out (-1.2 or so per side)
R: -1.5 Camber (on one side I have -2.0... (see full post)
I see you recommended toe in for both front and rear. Did you mean toe out for the front, or toe in for both front and rear?If you meant toe-in, could you explain why?By the way, I am not looking to debate - I have never played with the... (see full post)
Have you looked at the cooling modifications on the GT4 Dark Horse R cars? They have the largest Setrab oil cooler, an aftermarket radiator, and large holes drilled through the fan shroud to let air pass through the shroud at speed. There are... (see full post)
In lieu of giving you the 'right' answer, I'll give you the 'right enough' answer. Go to maximum on both front and rear cambers. With plates, you'll be about -3.0* on the front (maybe a tick over). You'll be -2.0* or a little less on the rear... (see full post)
This weekend I attended the driving school and guard rail club event at Motorsports Park Hastings. This was my first time on any track. The driving school was good as I would have been very far off line without the instruction. Saturday... (see full post)
