I had one that I bought somewhere as a kit, maybe it was from a newer GTO or something. It constantly splashed/leaked out of the cap and then was almost empty.Switched it out for a small tilton remote reservoir and no leaks, works great. I... (see full post)
I'm in the middle of my v6 to Coyote swap with also an auto to manual swap at the same time.
Just looked at my donor pedal assembly for the first time. I'm beginning to understand what it is I'm working with! 🤔
I do however have an automatic...
TheTed, he did not have an oil cooler. Your car has an oil cooler right in front of the driver side tire, with its own opening in the front of the car feeding it fresh air to take heat out of the oil before it goes back into the engine all... (see full post)
unfortunately WEC is as bad as F1 - everything is blocked off. Not just with ropes - but like walls and stuff. Went last year and I was really disappointed. Fortunately World Challenge is doing an endurance race next May, so I'll get my GT3 car... (see full post)
Hub3r --- glad to have you here and it looks like you have plenty of horses in your corral, ha. I remember having 2 track cars when I was younger and now that I just run one there are times I miss the ability to switch machines, ha. Fortunately I... (see full post)
Good place to source wheels is with Apexwheels.com or Late Model Restoration ( both site sponsors ) and either way go for a squared set up. Tires are an interesting subject, though they are the best mod to go fast, yet the choices can depend some... (see full post)
I would disagree with that, while using the same curves is esthetically pleasing, I don't think I've ever seen a cage that had the same angles front and back, they usually come into the door cavity on an angle from the front A post bar. I would... (see full post)
I’m running 12:1. My car is tuned for 100 octane as it is track only, but they can tune for 91. The Boss heads have slightly more combustion chamber volume than the stock Gen 1 head so it ends up being slightly less than 12:1 from what I researched. (see full post)
I know that the RTR drift cars have been running kevlar bodies the last few years. May be able to talk to them about skins. They went with kevlar over carbon for the flexibility and repairability after vehicle to vehicle impact. (see full post)
Hey Kev--consider using D-shape or "Square" shape clips for the door hinges. You can get them in the same pin diameters. On the S197 I think the pin diameter is (or is very close) to 5/16". I initially went with the pushbutton ones like you... (see full post)
I have had the problem for years, way before any brake upgrade attempts. and yes I tried a PP1 set up, my wheels would not clear and I was unwilling to buy new wheels just for this, I already bought S550 19x9 wheels, they look good, inexpensive ... (see full post)
Have you tried using the stock 4 piston Ford brembo front calipers to see how they compare? Might be a cheap and easy solution. Many online complaints of a soft pedal on s197’s using larger volume front calipers. (see full post)
Yeah DH racecars can use 700 to 1000 #/in (100 #/in increments) rear springs in coilover position. In my case the Ohlins 65 mm springs only go as far as 914 lbs in the rear and that's in the divorced spring location. Obviously I could use another... (see full post)
