How do you remove Half-Shafts when prying does not work?

I want to replace the 3.31 rear gears in my vanilla 2017 GT with 3.73s. I have a like-new GT350 rear suspension (with 3.73 gears) that I found on eBay. I have been trying to remove the half-shafts from the GT350 rear so I can remove the center section (differential). According to the service manual, the half-shafts are supposed to pop out with a bit of prying. Mine do not budge with a ton of prying. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

No experience with S550 but on some front drive half shafts they had a hog ring so you needed to pry on them them with the multiple bars “evenly” as mentioned above, to close it up and let it slide out

Looks like there is a ring.....

Simultaneous prying top and bottom did not work on either side. I will try the slide hammer tool next - great suggestion, thanks. I could just swap entire subframes but that's a bigger job and seems like asking for bigger trouble later. I'll leave that as a last resort.
