Whats up guys! excited to be part of the group. 1st track day in Nov with speed ventures at Chuckawala raceway in so cal. i want to make sure i have the car ready to at least gets some seat time to start learning. i have read the breakdown forum of first track days here so i understand the basic stuff and the safety. i will also have a instructor friend who races pikes peak with me to help out. my questions are more on the tech of the car. fell free to add any advice on the car that i didnt ask and you think it real imortant to do or look into before track days.

2016 Mustang gt pp1, 6 speed recaro package.

i have changed and topped off all the fluids in the car. i will get some decent new pads for the front and back before track day in Nov.
i have an LVA front splitter mounted to the chasis, maybe it will help maybe it wont. no wing at this time. ill be adding a front tow hook as its mandatory at most tracks anyways.
The car has eibach Sportline springs right now. the car sits way to low and i THINK that the springs do more harm than good. i plan to put some steeda / koni/ Fp non- adjustable shocks and struts with some min drop springs on because i think its maintenance time and might as well do it at the same time as springs. im not sure which brand is best but i think its necessary before the track day because these springs aren't great and who doesn't want to switch from stock struts and shocks.
im running Pzero perreli tires as they came on the car and the tread is good enough to eat up for the first track day.
I guess my questions are there any recommendations on shocks and struts (these are all about same price point) paired with what springs and after i install i will need an alignment. Whats some good numbers to start with on toe and camber to tell the shop. or they will just put them to zero which i dont think will be good. the car only has the camber bolts so id imagine i cant move camber and tow a crazy amount. also what psi you guys running on the track?
with this being a stock car and first track event im trying to see what i like and dont like and slowly change whats actually important as time goes on.

I didn't like the Koni non adjustable (orange) on my S197 and switched them for Bilstein non adjustable with FP springs. Bilstein have worked well for me on a couple Mustangs over the years. Ford Performance kits are always a favorite recommendation on this site for suspension upgrades: shocks/struts, springs, anti roll bars.
On my S550 I run zero toe in front with as much camber as I can get using camber plates (-2.8), limited by the strut tower hole diameter. Rear I run slight toe-in, 1/16", and currently at -1.9 camber using stock camber adjustment. This is with 305 square tires on 11" wheels, which I think is one of the biggest upgrades you can do early on. Michelin PS4S or Continental Sport 02 are good all around tire choices. This works well for me street/track.

I'm pretty casual with the track days and mods compared to others on the site, so I think my experience is something people can relate to that are just starting out with a stock car.

ill look into those wheel sizes and tire size. i know that will make a big difference for the track. im glad you said something about the shocks and struts. you get so many diff opinions. its a hobby for now so i cant blow all my paychecks on the car since i already have to many hobbies lol. thanks for the reply. since i dont have camber plates yet ill prop just have them put that camber to the max with the camber bolts because its definately less than the plates

Look into the camber plates sooner rather than later. Will help save you money by not destroying front tyres. They will also be necessary to get 305's inside the front guards of a GT.
Here is the link to wheel sizes and what is required to get them to fit.
Most stock style springs are too soft, if you want to confirm what you suspect, put a thin cable tie on the shock shaft at the lowest point and after your track day see how far up the shaft it was pushed. If its at the top on a bad road tyre then its only going to get worse with better, bigger rubber.
General consensus for basic suspension swap is stick with a single brand package. There are plenty of posts about the FP package being hard to get with various components seemingly MIA. What you go with will also determine what Camber plate will suit.
Using camber bolts will also severely limit the size wheel you can use as you are reducing the clearance available by moving the hub to strut angle rather than tilting the whole strut.
In the time being run as much as you can get with what you have. Actual alignment specs aren't going to make much difference at this point. You are going to be fighting understeer to start with.
You mentioned pads, good idea, they are heavy cars and generate a LOT of heat in the brake department.
If the Pirelli's are the type that came as standard at one point, they will be bad, on the road. Even worse on track. Be careful.

Enough to stop the tyre rolling over and not so much they get greasy quickly. Keep a tyre gauge on you and keep checking and adjusting, read that as keep bleeding air, my guess is they are going to go up significantly. Remember when they cool down they will be LOW.
I know it isn't the answer you want but on the day i'm sure your friend will give you good advice as to what he is feeling.

Great attitude ^^^^^. Most posts like this will get the responce, first mod to do is the driver mod, seat time equals learning time. More the better, then car mods.
Usual comments here, leave ego at the door in the morning, get as much instruction as possible and listen to what is being said, drive at your pace you feel comfortable with, let others pass easily so you can concentrate on you.
Have fun and drive it home at the end of the day.

The rabbit hole is deep on this forum. Stock to road/track to full on track. Plenty of all types here, enjoy the ride.

Thank you for the reply and the advice. Slowly trying to build a tasteful street / track car and see where it takes me so all this info helps. Suspension parts and tires seem to be the best beginning upgrades. Thanks again.
