Data centres are the latest fad and a lot is the push for AI which is new so being pushed as the solution for everything, how many times have you heard that line rolled out for any new breakthrough. It will have its uses, will just take time for the hype bubble to burst and reality to set in. But the name really isn't accurate. There really isn't any intelligence, its just a library with a really fast sort function. The biggest problem is the library was written by some really smart and really dumb people. Back to garbage in, garbage out.
The other use is for "the cloud", every business now outsources storage rather than look after their own hardware. Everything you can buy is on the internet, that feature has to run from somewhere. Some of the data centres being built here are for Google and Amazon. If we don't build it, they won't shop. Can't let that happen.
How dare you bring data into an emotional argument for so many people. No one wants the facts.

The best/worst news from the data center haters is the water usage. Since the centers only add heat to the water, where is the rub?? Force the industry to use closed loops, reuse their water after cooling....problem solved.
Garbage in, garbage out?? Yep. If the majority of the data on a subject is wrong, congrats, you will be wrong with the rest of the folks depending on a short cut.
Now...if we can make cool fast car parts using AI like has been popping up lately.........Who Needs Water!!! LOL.

If there were no data centers we shouldn't be able to communicate on a forum from all over the world talking about Mustangs and AI. So yeah even though AI might sound scary (I use mine to help me troubleshoot the Mustang and upgrade it) it's actually mostly harmless for the moment.PANIC???? Im in. LOL.
