2016 Ford Performance Products Update

I'm placing this in the Boss section because there's lots of good info for the coyote based engines and I want everyone to see this.

Oil separator
Is should be available in December and retails for $189. Specifics are:

1. A lot of development went into the filtering media, "it works great".
2. It's made out of glass filled nylon 6 for durability.
3. Uses a throttle body gasket vs an O ring found on other separators.
4. The hoses come from the same supplier that makes the OEM hoses.
5. It uses OEM quick connects with proper seals.

Ford was going for the OEM look and quality for durability. "We did it right" There should be specific fitments for the coyote and voodoo engines.

Voodoo Crate Engine
They currently do not plan to offer the Voodoo engine from the production car as a crate option. It is exclusive to the car. However, parts will be available. Heads, intakes, blocks should be available 1st quarter 2016.

GT350R Wing and Splitter
This is still being discussed. The wing is expensive and they are not convinced that the business case makes sense. No specific comment on the splitter but I imagine it will be available at some point especially if its on the GT350R-S.

GT350R Rear Seat Delete
Both the RSD and seat kit for the R are available now.

GT350 lowering springs

They are in development.

GT350 MRC track oriented damper programming update
They are looking into this.

GT350 TracKey
It's in development and will have some new features. This is still a ways out so be patient. The software is completely different from the previous TracKey software program.

GT350 Owners Kit
This is a possibility but no specifics were given.

GT350 Track Attack
This was discussed at the Track Tour events but no official information is available at this time.
**When this does get announced I'll see if we can get a specific class for TMO members. ;)

Voodoo Intake for Coyote Engines
They are working on a complete kit that will include a calibration that is CARB approved!

Voodoo Valve Springs for a Coyote

The heads look similar but are different. They recommend swapping the heads and valvetrain. Cams will also be offered that work with the coyote firing order. 8)

Hood Struts
"Ford Performance will be selling a hood strut kit. Very clean OEM look with the Ford Performance logo on them. They were on their car at SEMA. Should be out by year end...."

Re: Ford Performance Products Update

Here you go. Jimmy is a BMO member. I'll be shocked if Ford doesn't offer owners a kit. It was a very cool gift from Ford. Add the Boss Track Attack in and Ford killed it with the Bosses. I expect the same with the GT350's.

Re: Ford Performance Products Update

I really hope they're doing the Track Attack again. I'm always up for more instruction, plus I'd love to get back to Miller again. They ran a fantastic program for the Boss, and I met some great new friends that have become my regular track buddies. It would be fantastic if we could get a BMO date and do the second day in a race prepped Boss 302.

Re: Ford Performance Products Update

Sounds like a lot of great things are coming. I'm interested to see what the stuff that is Coyote-compatible yields :)

Re: Ford Performance Products Update

Never heard of the cast in brace on the intake side of the bore and I listened very carefully at the Powertrain Reveal event at SVT headquarters. There is more ambiguity in the FRPP parts listing which makes it unclear if this is simply the production 5.2 block or if there are improvements (already?) with the part versus that of the stock piece.

Re: Ford Performance Products Update

Tob you're going beyond my level of technical knowledge but my read on the ad is the block is the stock voodoo block and they are highlighting the differences between it and the coyote block.

My son had a thought on the new features for TracKey, maybe they are adding rev matching? I know what would work for me. 8)

Based on what was talked about during the Track Tour event that I attended, I do not think this (Rev match) is in the cards. Not according to John Pfeiffer. Now John is however the Fluid Dynamics Engineer that designed most of the Aero and cooling features for the car, not the power train 8). I know you are a big fan of this feature so I hope they can offer it..... 8)

I wonder if this might be the same thing as FRPP was testing with the sportsman block? I do remember Kelly (from BMR) posting a pic of the 2015+ block from the parts page and it had the same brace as the 5.2 block does here. I'm guessing it is just an error in the picture though.

Tob is a hell of a smart man for those who don't know and is VERY highly regarded on SVTP for his technical insights and amazingly detailed "how-to" threads. He even has a couple of threads going into certain specifics of the GT350.

Rick, he is talking about the little piece of metal that is "separating" the water jacket on the intake side of the bore. Most 5.0 blocks will crack at this point when subjected to a certain amount of boost and when the cylinder pressures just get to high. I have seen a couple of them break at around the 700HP mark but most seem to break when you are approaching the 1000RWHP limit. At the time, people were creating these support blocks that they would put into the water jackets to help support that area of the block. Now most people are just sleeving the block as that will hold north of 1200HP.

I'm very curious about the GT350 heads though. When I have to refresh my block however many years down the road I might want to grab a set if they can work with the regular 5.0 blocks without issues.

Great. Now my head won't fit through the door. ;D

Rick/Sean, I'll see if I can get any clarity on the FRPP engine block listing. Sadly, I have little confidence in a random call to FRPP.

Of note, I got a call a few days ago from someone who has been with Ford Racing/FRPP/Ford Motorsport/SVO and their parts network for nearly 30 years. He filled me in on an issue on the 5.2 engine that was being addressed, at the time, on any R models that had already been built. Apparently there was an oil control issue seen at high G's on tracked R models such that there was a change made to (what I believe) are the lash adjusters bleed down rate. I asked why not the regular GT350's (which I assume would also be addressed on the Niche line via a running change) as well as if this meant there would be either a second part number or a revised part number. I didn't get all the answers I was looking for. This immediately had me wondering about the extreme engine temps that were discussed by a few journalists (PCOTY, for example) that were seen when tracking the car hard. I have yet to have that connection verified either. Ford Performance has done a great job of keeping everyone quiet but I'm hoping that issues like this are worthy of an explanation from them at some point.

And Rick, I saw your email(s). I hope Travis can work something out with them and that they get the number needed to move forward with the rotary forged R wheels.
