Yes you should. Multimatic is building some cheap carbon fiber car with a puny V6. You might have read about it. ;)

Wait...you mean the Ford GT? Are you messing with me?

I found this online: http://www.multimatic.com/?c=US
No parts lists though. I'll have to look closer when I get home.

What do you weigh on track? I'm right about 4000 pounds with my weight reductions.
I always carry a passenger-either my son or grandson rides with me so that s 475 pounds of meatbags in the car.
This is more about family time than it is about going as fast as possible, but a nice blend of both would be nice.
I'm still paranoid that the brakes will fail in the worst possible spot and I kill or maim my son or grandson.
Gonna take some time to build up enough trust to run it as hard as I'd like to.

We are pretty close. I am right around 4,000 lbs with me in the car.

I talked to Kevin yesterday, I'll for sure see you up there.

I have done a lot with the brakes, everything possible short of upgrading the calipers right now.

Pads, Good Fluid, Titanium shims, Cooling ducts, Rotors, Stainless lines, separate brake / clutch reservoir.

It's a huge improvement over my first track day in when this was basically a stock car (I had a non-brembo GT) That was an adventure!

LOL. Yes he was. But first he was paying you a very big compliment on your work. They're also a proven race/championship winning team like with the GT350R-C, and others.

Multimatic Engineering (and Multimatic Motorsports) are one of Ford's primary partners for motorsports and high-performance applications development.

You may have seen some of their work:

Oh, well then thank you.
Yes, I vaguely remember seeing some of these cars, especially the FR500 which is what inspired me to stripe up my car initially in 2006 if I remember correctly.

Multimatic and Watson are like the source of 90% or more for all things mustang/ford racing related. I guess you could not through Cortex into that mix as well.....

Looks like you got your Pagid pads ordered.

Is the day you are doing on the 15th the NorCal SAAC Thunderhill day? If so I'll be there Saturday and Sunday, I'll try to introduce myself.

I'll be trying out new brake combo for the first time there that I got through Pete at Track Day Solutions.

I guarantee you my car is heavier than yours! I wanted all the stopping power.

I went with Pagid RS29 rear and RST3 for the front, and RS29 for the front for the street and auto-x. Just got the new rotors and RS29s in and bedded the brakes. I like them so far. After talking with Pete it was pretty clear with my HEAVY car I would want more than the RS29 for the track in front.

Looking forward to the track.
@surfergeek Looks like rain this weekend...

Yup!

I am ready for it. Last time I was at Thunderhill in January it was raining. Private track day and got the most seat time ever and learned a lot about car control in the rain on NT01s.

Leaving my NT05 street tires on the car to head out there and throwing my track tires in the truck to use on Sunday.

Just hoping it's not raining too bad.

Houston.....we've located the problem:

It was definitely the pads sticking...

Make sure you try that test again with a couple lugnuts installed to make sure the rotor stays properly seated as you spin it.

I took it to Sonoma this past weekend and the brakes worked perfectly.
The car ran flawlessly all day long and we didn't break a thing....for once.
The only problem I had was the rear tires went away very quickly and I essentially had an awesome drift car.

In the end, it was indeed the pads sticking in the calipers and the Pagid pads fit just right.
Thanks Matt for hooking me up. :D

Thank you everyone for your input. (Especially Kevin whom I can't thank enough)
Looks like I can finally put this mess behind me and concentrate on other things.
