This is what I'm dealing with.....watch the whole 1 minute video.

Thats a whole lot of straight line speed!!...... We tried to get around that by dividing our free for all into three time groups. That way we we could accommodate the maximum number of cars possible into competitive (semi..) categories.

I know, right?
You need all that motor in a tube chassis car that weighs 1000# less to finally beat my stock body junk yard motor mustang? Not sure how proud of that I would be....

Well, looks like pieces of metal in the manifold and number 6 sparkplug being headless are probably not a very good indication. Now just waiting to see if the heads are ok or not.

If the heads are ok, then thinking...
1) Gen3 Aluminator shortblock
2) AED short block
3) Rebuild new engine here... (and hows that workin out?)

If the heads are dead....
A) Gen 3 aluminator long block... but the electronics will play nice with the rest of the car?
B) Used Junkyard gen 2 with goodies (A la @Fabman )

If none of the above....

Take up gardening?
Honda?

A new 5.2 short block is only 2500.00 at Tasca.

shaun says a stock block is good for 1000 hp if you do the right oil mods.
Mine still lives with regular 8k shifts and blasts to 8200.

Good luck regardless of your decision and I have to admit the rebuild process in Chile has been a rough situation for you. Any help from your builder since the motor was essentially just recently finished?

 He is a good friend and charges me at a great discount. But I think from now on its short blocks.

That 5.2 shortblock looks VERY tempting. I assume thats with a cross plane?

Yes, the same stock bottom end that's in Alissandro's car and he just won the TT2 nationals with it.
A stock unopened motor with a stock intake making 485 rwhp.

We have a few members on here associated with Ford directly, any chance one of you could send a PM to Mad? Fully understand you would need to stay discreet and likely not advisable to post on the Forum, but sure would be nice to help our fellow racer in South America. Better yet, a contact with Ford in Chile would be a cool situation if possible?

trying to find out me info, not listed in the usual blurbs... sent a email to ford Performance.
That’s the part number that shaun gave me…I verified with him.
Buuuuttt….he didn’t specifically say it was a 5.2 so maybe it’s not?

Taking a look again, Looks like its the gen3 short block. Which is still a good deal. With taxes, shipping an core charge it comes out to approx $3500, which is still cheaper then a gen3 aluminator shortblock which would be around 5200. the difference would be usefull for the Boundry pump setup etc etc. But still the $1700 for forged internals is tempting.

The 5.2 block is about $2700 alone.
