For anyone that is still following, that used Coyote I bought turned out to be junk.
I am back to square 1. :(
Sorry to hear this. The most disappointing news I've heard around here in a while.

...I will have successfully transformed my 2006 into a stock 2012 Mustang GT with better tail lights.
There are a zillion Coyote s197's out there, and the uniqueness of Hier Frankenstang will cease to exist.
From the perspective of a guy with a much more nearly stock 2014: Your car is ANYTHING but stock of any year! An ageless creation, evolved from countless hours of passion, workmanship, and perseverance.

To be honest, at the moment I am wondering if I even want to carry on....this has been way too frustrating and expensive.
I just spent 5000.00 on a motor and another 450.00 to find out it is junk.
Maybe I'll make somebody a hell of a deal on a super clean car less motor.
I hate to see my baby go, but I also hate to see it sit in my shop. Every. Damn. Day.
Would be a shame to see an end to this era!!!

On the other hand, I just may have a plan.....stay tuned.

And thank you for the kind words. :)

What about a Ford Performance crate motor? Warranty and they make a low compression one for blowers.
Man I really hope you can pull something together, always enjoy reading your stuff.

I wouldn't count on the warranty from Ford Performance on that motor. Ask me how I know!

Race car=no Warranty
Actually, it wasn't , technically, a race car. It wouldn't have mattered what it was in. They will still do everything in their power to squirm out of the warranty. Even if you provide data that completely disproves their analysis of the failure. Also, they advertise a 24month warranty. I would expect that it should last more than a few test days. ( Shaking down a brand new car)

Somewhere in the fine print it will usually say: "We're always right - you're always wrong".

That blows. :-/ Junkyard take-out might be a good option.

Check out www.thepartsfarm.com , they offer a lot of turn-key engine/management/fuel system packages from wrecked cars.

No more used engines for me.
I'm going to wait until I can afford something un molested by who knows who.

The only shame in walking away is future regret. You'e right Sal, not an easy contemplation. But if you ask the guys out here in TMOland, you likely to get the same advise.

If there is anything I can do to help on the east coast, let me know. I know you have your trusted sources, so I'm not going to start throwing a bunch of names and companies at you. I'm in NC, and am willing to help in any way possible.

Thanks, this has just become such a problem, one thing after another...many more issues than I have posted here and I'm about fed up.
All of this time, money and aggravation to race for zero dollars....?

I appreciate that, but at this moment its hardly worth it...however, no firm decisions have been made so I'm going to press forward cautiously; if I continue to have issues I am going to have to give considerable weight to just bailing out.

I could put a fraction of this money into a stock car and race for hundreds or thousands of dollars just an hour from here...why do I need this crap?

Man this sucks. Put that car in the corner and focus on relaxing for a bit...come back to it later if you feel like it. I have a feeling based on your past experience with racing that eventually you will return.

Thats terrible news..... :(

I went the start from scratch route. Brand new block etc... the whole bottom end is brand spanking new and with all the goodies it turned out less then a semi decent short block.. Nice to be able to check every piece as it comes together. Will be a strong build with a modest investment!!! You have the skills to do a fantastic job!! Where the heads on your engine junk as well??

I'm not washed out yet, but I'm struggling. Question, what oil pan have you found success with? I'm getting conflicting reports on pans at the moment.

All junk. Engine has had metal particles shot through the oil. It did run when it came out, but won't likely make many more races. And thank you for the compliments. :)

I am looking at the new aluminator 5.2 XS. One shot all done. Cry once and have it over.
However, my tuner isn't enamored with the pan. Here we go again.

Too be honest.... after seeing what a new block is like (full of casting flash, beads of metal and very irregular oil holes), and having to hone everything to get it to decent tolerances, I prefer building the engine... Might be sour grapes since a 5.2 XS is out of my $$$ range o_O
