Day 1 is in the books. Spent the morning tweaking the car and learning the track (and car - only second shakedown of the car). New alignment made a HUGE difference in the handling.

Here's a quick and dirty lap that I was logging for some ECU data - still fine-tuning the engine tune and currently trying to determine the source of some fuel pressure issues (dipping down to the mid forties PSI under WOT from the regulator set at 54). Hopefully we can get it figured out and start doing some harder laps after.

Car is an absolute rocket - 159 mph down the front straight and 157 into T5 and I'm still taking it easy.

That's a huge temp differential between water and CHT! Any idea why that is? I thought it was generally accepted that CHT was roughly 15° higher than water temp.....maybe that's only applicable to more OEM setups. 🤷‍♂️
That’s interesting, first I heard about 15* water temp offset to CHT. My understanding is CHT is the only real time sensor data displayed to the driver (including a numeric scale!). Using only the factory virtual gauges (‘14 GT), CHT max is usually 230* and moves down from there as “OilTemp” gauge moves into yellow then into red. Once oil temp is in red, back off a little and in short order I’m back into green.

That has got to feel so good after being down for so long.
She has come together quite nice!
It’s pretty surreal. Been a long time coming and it’s wild to me that it all worked ha

That transmission is awesome.
It totally dominates the driving experience - ha. It really does make a huge difference in acceleration - it’s so rapid now and I don‘t lose much to anything anymore that’s not boosted (GT2RS, GT500, etc.). It’s just so damn fun to shift, tho. Ha

Closing my eyes and just listening to the video and it sounds exactly 💯 like an Australian V8 Supercar. Impressive. 👍🏻
I’ve caught myself just enjoying the video more times than I can count when I am supposed to be studying footage ha. I feel like that Christian Bale meme

Yeah. It was really surprising to me too. I actually thought something was wrong until I really dove into the data. I think it’s because the radiator is working so well. I haven‘t heard of any other mustang seeing water temps that low in similar conditions, so I just don’t have any data to compare. I did notice in iRacing the GT3 mustang runs similar water temps (175-190), so I’d be interested to hear what type of CHTs the GT3 cars are seeing.

Great meeting you and your family !! That happy dog, Major, is such a cool dog !! Great “garage” build on the honey badger, job well done !!
Thanks, Mark! It was a pleasure meeting you! Can’t wait to head back up next year!

Great meeting you @ Road America Kevin. An incredible build and for those that haven't met Kevin, a great dude. Please let us know if you'll be back next summer .... we all need to get pit space together.

I’ll definitely be back up next summer! Already got the full family planning - so ya’ll will get to meet Frank too (and the wife unit).

Still waiting on the photos, but wanted to share now since I'm too excited ha

She's spittin' fireballs on the upshifts now

I need that transmission.

I mean....can you imagine how much faster I'd be if the brakes worked AND I could shift gears....?
