2012 Mustang GT Premium. Everthing on the car is how it was set up when I purchased in October 2020.

My first time driving a manual after over 30 yrs of autos was like I never left....I was test driving a 2004 GT and loved what i was missing all those yrs!! Getting the Boss moved me up a level or two........or three.................

Had a surprise waiting for me this am. I guess a couple corner workers mentioned me yesterday. I thought it was just a regular day... Took, waved or gave point bys like I should, respected other driver levels and acknowledged corner workers on the in and out laps. Maybe its because I skipped a session because it was wet and was on slicks. Either way, cool, I'll take it - 50 bucks for summit, 45 towards a future track day and a T-shirt.

Congrats

Pitt Race - Little fun in front of me in the esses. Made sure he was staying off and pushed on. One of these days I pull together and post a decent lap time. Today traffic and there was a major spill on the side strait which ended up having absorbent covering 2/3 of the width of the track for probably 200 yards the whole way to turn 3. They tried to clean it off but left a layer of powder.

Won't be doing really any posts on the stang for a while. Nothing new and taking this season off to save some cash.

So I'll do a post on my F150. The passenger side IWE (integrated wheel end) was intermittently clanking like it was going 1/2 way in and out of 4WD and just feeling weird on that side. Meanwhile, I have 10 days and 3500 miles left of powertrain warranty so rush to take it in for a "covered" repair. I get a call , one of the vacuum lines that run across the front of the frame is broken and not covered. $185 for a repair or $400 + for an entire new vacuum harness. I thought - not in my lifetime - and picked it up. Got home, crawled underneath and took a look. 5 minutes later with a razor knife, some 3mm ID 2 cycle fuel line and fixed. Cost = nothing. It's not going to pull apart, know it should have no issues holding vacuum. Feels like it's fixed 4WD going in and out with no issues. These dealership are out or their minds. A similar thing happened with my 04 Jeep. Lost my separation for defrost and front vents. Figured out it was a bad vacuum line under the battery. $2 piece of hose and 1/2 hour. I know if I took it for repair I would have been at minimum $500 and probably way more if they didn't find the problem.

Moral of the story - Chase those vacuum lines. It might be a cheap fix for a big problem. 20250602_171524.jpg

What year is your F150?

2019 with the 5.0. If I have issues again I'll replace the check valve, line and solenoid. Researching the check valves can have issues. Replacement for just the valve is 10 or 15 bucks. For 30 I can do the top part of the system.

Hang in there Kazar, there are plenty of us on here who have had to take a break from Racing, Time Trials, or Autocrossing for various reasons ( job change, moving , new addition to the family, etc. ), but you can still post or comment to help others on TMO. You will be burning up some Bridgerocks , Yomamas, Badyears, or Szhittos before you know it.

My wife and I are moving soon, so I understand, I am not getting much constructive concrete creative time at present, so I feel your pain.
