I brought home some hardware this weekend.
-Kansas City Region CAM-T Champion
-MiDiv Solo Series (sponsored by @DaveW) CAM-T runner-up (I was one event down to the champ)
-Most improved driver? I think I was one event short last year which put my in 46th place in the PAX standings, this year I ended up 2nd. I don't think I should have received this award, many people much more deserving than me.
-Kansas City Region overall PAX runner-up

With that said I'm likely taking this next season off. I'll be TDY to the east coast for a couple months and then I still have a massive amount of work to get done on the house we've been renovating for the last several months. I hope to be back for 2025 at full strength.

Congrats!!

I'm sure this is a silly question but going from the 275 tire to the 295 for autoX, did you notice a big difference? I was going to try to fit 315 square with flares but I'm not sure if it's worth the extra cost and effort.
Massive difference. I would guess 1-1.5 seconds at least on a 45 sec course. You kinda need to figure out what specific tires you want to run rather than a size. The A052's and RE71's are the top tires right now and work well on a 10.5 or 11" wheel in 295. The 315 Yoks really need a 12" wheel to get the max potential out of them. I know of several people who have picked up time with a 295 vs a 315 on a 11" wheel.

I run the RE71's right now and love them. I would assume a fender flare is required for the front with a 295. I'd have to buy new wheels but if it's worth even a second, that would be worth it. I like my Apex wheel. They do make an 11" version but I'd have to make sure the offset is correct for the front.

I trimmed the lip on the inside of the fender and then made some braces to push the fender out approx. 1". I also had to use a shorter spring for clearance on the inside. If you look back through my thread it's all documented with pictures.

Thanks, I'll check it out.

Hello Everyone!! Long time no see! The last year and a half have been hectic to say the least but let me catch you up.

We bought a new house with the intention to do some remodeling. After we starting digging into it we realized it needed LOTS more than remodeling. So, we did the most reasonable thing we could think of and drove a skid steer through part of it, gutted the rest and started from scratch. 🤷‍♂️

To add to that fiasco we sold our other house before this one was done and I was set to deploy. We stayed in an Airbnb for about a month while the wife and I spent every waking moment trying to work on the house in the middle of winter with no insulation and a little diesel heater in sub-zero weather. I have no desire to do that again.

We were able to get the house to a livable condition before I deployed in March. We got one bathroom working and the wife and kids were troopers until I got back to resume progress.
Over the summer I got invited to Goodguys in Des Moines to drive this beauty which got selected as a Muscle Machine of the Year finalist.

Since I didn't already have enough stuff to occupy my time I decided to start taking customers in my shop for some side income. With everything I had going on and the house still not completely done, the racecar never made it out of the shop all year.

In December the Air Force sent me to a school in California.

When I finally got around to trying to drive my car for the first time in a year, I couldn't get it in gear and it had a nice puddle of fluid underneath from the clutch slave cylinder. There is nothing worse you can do to a car than let it sit for extended periods of time. The past couple days after work I got the slave cylinder rebuilt(Tilton) and the transmission put back in with a couple test drives for good measure. Just maybe I might be able to make it out to a couple events this year.

Thank you for your service. Race car time well deserved.

Whew! Just read through the whole build thread. Wow, lots of great information. Was frustrating seeing the problems but nice to see them followed by solutions and testing.

After seeing your troubles at LS Fest Texas, I can completely relate. I entered the 2024 Texas event - so hot, crazy long lines, lots of driving over curbs and then baking in the sun, a total cluster f&&&. I have more respect for people that can get through these events!

We are taking some things I learned here and applying them to our little LS Fox build. Thanks again for posting all of this Casey!

Cheers, Terry Fair
