Used to have '65 GT350, s/n 5S048, from 1988 to 2000. It was my DD for several years. Hot, noisy, raw, just as you'd expect. Ultra simple/easy to work on, and 1k lbs lighter than a new GT350... 2680 lbs as I recall. Super fun car. Selling that Shelby is my only automotive regret. Oh well.
"raw" is a very good description of those old cars, monster clutch effort, armstrong power steering, no a/c, F70 bias belt tires, and they'd dump you in a second if you didn't respect them.
