MPG Poll - A.K.A. are you a leadfoot?

I drilled out my plates and the fuel mileage went down. So did my foot as the car sees higher RPM's now.

??? ??? ??? Higher RPM's because you drilled out the exhaust plates?

Yup, it sounds good so I tend to run it up more often.

Actually I found I drive slower around town after I took the plates out. I sounds so damn good at idle and slow speeds I find I don't need to hit the gas to get that beautiful tone !

(That and the fact that local cops see the damn thing with the nice "FORD RACING" windshield banner, and then hear it, and want to write me up in a heartbeat assuming I'm one of the local teenagers that is street racing. When they finally see my mostly bald head they get that look like someone just stole their puppy ;D )

Since I got TK (2 days ago lol) I run mine up and down the revs a lot, because the engine braking noises are the best. But I have a DD so I don't go through town a lot, I just keep it mellow until I get out in the sticks.

I get over 20 mpg in mixed driving. So I'm pretty sure I'm averaging in the mid twenties. Don't get me wrong, I punch it every chance I get, especially when I'm first at the light. ;D Love the launch control!
