rear brake caliper options?

found these, they may be worth a try.

Question for those looking for a non-OE solution - how important is retaining the e-brake to you?

Don't really know the particulars of your plans, and you may already know this, but if you're trying to integrate fixed calipers to the rear that don't natively have parking brake functionality, there's a few other separated systems available on the market. Example is the new 2024+ Mustang using PR3Z-2553-A (BRCF570) and PR3Z-2552-A (BRCF569), however those are electrically controlled and wouldn't natively work with the S197 hand brake lever (may be able to unbolt the electrical component and replace with a plate and lever, but would require more R&D - Pads used in the system are PR3Z-2200-C aka BRF2029). I know Brembo themselves have a "GT1 Hand Brake Caliper/Brembo Racing Handbrake Caliper" and Wilwood has similar options (and probably more customizable) with their "MC4 Mechanical". You'd need to add the mounting bosses to the axle flange for it (which I assume would be remade anyways for the non-OE solution), and could also easily have a non-parking brake and parking brake version.

There is one particular reason I want a functioning parking brake for my car: trailering the car. I use a trailer to haul my car to and from track events. I want the parking brake set when the car is being hauled on a trailer. I would not want the tie down straps taking all the load without the brake.

I'm not sure if there is another way to secure the car on a trailer. I was told a long time ago by someone whose opinion I trust, that you should not have the car in gear when trailering. He said the movement of the car on the trailer with it in gear is bad for the transmission. I'm not sure how bad that would be, but it makes some sense. So, I would not want to trailer the car with no parking brake, depending on the transmission and straps to hold the car in place. I can easily imagine that knocking things around in the trans and putting more strain on the straps.

Not sure what straps you are using, but when I was trailering I used straps rated at 6,000 lbs each. The car only weighed 3400 lbs, so any 1 strap could in theory carry the entire load. I left it out of gear, parking brake on. Never had any issues with that setup. I used wheel chocks screwed to deck for more security. It's a bit more of a PITA when loading/unloading but the car does not move if it is done properly.
I agree with what your buddy told you though, not good for the trans if the car is in gear and there is movement.

No problem towing the car with parking brake off....most race cars don't have a parking brake and we get to the track just fine.
Definitely do not leave the car in gear, it will beat up the gears etc.
The main thing is to have a good reliable way to strap the car down and having good straps and good anchor points on the trailer.
I have loops welded to my car to accept the straps so its just click-click and we are off to the races....literally.
