Finally collecting my thoughts from the SCCA Time Trial Nationals two weeks ago at NCM Motorsports park. This is my 3rd trip to TT nats, the last 2 in my 2018 GT350. I did run a TT at NCM april with the GT500, but was not dialed in with the setup. I'm very happy with improving my PB from a 2:14.5 in april to 2:11.5 on this trip. Only managed 4th in class in Max 1, some heavy hitters there. But hung in for 9th overall (out of 171) in the combined 3 days of competition.
Grassroots motorsports was also running their Ultimate Track Car competition in parallel with TT Nats. The top 20 TT Nats cars were invited to participate in the UTCC - which is a straight up fastest lap of the weekend shootout. Was able to finish 6th overall, 3rd fastest mustang behind Steve Luca and his all conquering unlimited GT500.
Ford performance gave us a hell of a car. With help from DSC Sport, Steeda, Apex wheels, Vorshlag, Anderson Composites, Archetype Racing, and the under-rated Nankang CR-S 200TW tires, I've dialed in the chassis for my driving style. But the rest of the car is as it came off the line in June of '22, running in Track mode with the TC on. I'm amazed of what it can do, pounding out lap after lap in all conditions.
Best laps in the 2:11's on the last day

Steve Luca outran everything in his unlimited class GT500. I tried parking nearby everyday to absorb the mojo.
Vorshlag got my new splitter extension done just in time to test before the race. Class rules limit the size to this. The finest marine grade plywood to be friendly to the environment. The car already has generous tunnels to start with that were larger than the class max dimensions.
Balanced with the Anderson Composities CFTP wing and Archetype Racing 1.5" gurney lip
I have lots of built in downforce - weight with full tank, no driver
325/30/20 Nankang CR-S (2023 version) on Apex forged VS5-RS 20x11.5 wheels. This set of tires had to run all weekend. I helped with some rotations after each day to help balance the wear. The scuff marks are from understeer in the slow corners, could use more camber up front for this.
My comfortable office for the weekend.
Lined up with the other racers in Max1
Will be back next year, with more improvements to car and driver.
