Weird clutch problem

I've been keeping my eye on Uniclutch. They're a subsidiary of Mantic and are getting solid enough distribution to be stocked in places like Napa. Swappable center-section to mate with most common transmission splines (including 26). You can customize the offset to work with any TOB and flywheel you like within reason. I know it doesn't apply to you, but the swappable center section is nice for those with MT-82s now who may upgrade to a Magnum XL in the future and don't want to change clutches.

I have had great service from the RST. You may need the RXT with the extra HP.
I originally had a RXT and aluminum flywheel with the supercharged 3 valve.
I went to the Exedy Hyper single when I swapped in the Coyote.
Way more RPM potential with the coyote and the clutch cover is Billet Aluminum with the exedy.
Its stamped steel with the RXT.

This is the line from the Kohr site that got me to change it up:

OEM BOSS S REPLACEMENT CLUTCH
This is our GO-TO clutch setup for all our racecars, including our Pirelli World Challenge racecars!
The perfect clutch for your Shelby transmission or Magnum XL transmission swap into your 2005-2017 Mustang.

You can avoid the McLeods. I had the RXT when I was starting out racing and using the MT82, worked well until the pressure plate cracked. No issues in many years (knock on wood) since switching to Hyper Single and T56M.

Sal, if its the Exedy clutch disc then its part number DH09D (26 spline). Maybe you find one? I swapped it out when a piece of the first disc excited the transmission

The clutches are unobtanium ATM....unless I find a vendor that still has one on the shelf.
I haven't pulled mine yet to see the damage, I just assume its all going to be replaced, clutch cover, disc and flywheel.

Okay its not the master cyl so I have to assume its the clutch at this point.
I called Exedy and they don't have any clutches and there are no orders for replacements so it will be a few months at the very least before any new ones are made.
My question now is, if not an Exedy Hyper single....what is second choice? (has to be 26 splines) Exedy has no double disc clutches either so that's out.
Not looking to spend a fortune, but has to put up with high RPM road racing at 500+ wheel HP.
Anyone?
These are not cheap, but it comes with everything down to the ARP flywheel bolts and will hold up to high rpm and more HP than you are putting down.

I’m having good luck with the Spec Racing clutch in my car. They’re originally what was used on the GT350RC that won the championship in 2015. But maybe @blacksheep-1 was around Kohr then and has insight into how they worked out

I was with Phoenix and they ran the Exedy Hyper single.
Recently I did instal an Exedy 2 disc in my gt500 ( something I said I would never do) and have been very happy with it.

Was bombarded with Uniclutch facebook advertising over the last 12 months. Had also been looking at Mantic clutches for the future then came across this group.
OK just had to edit this as it wont post the link, search facebook for group "Mantic Clutch Failures". The fact there is an actual group was disturbing enough.
Maybe the Mantic USA people handle things better but there seemed to be a lot of failures.

Good to know, I had the impression that Mantic was one of the good ones before. Clutch company issues are always difficult to read through when trying to make a decision about what company to go with because it seems every brand has someone with a bad experience, Mantic, Exedy, McLeod, Spec, Ram, Centerforce, etc. it's often hard to tell if it's customer installer negligence (didn't measure, didn't do break in miles, didn't machine the flywheel, didn't torque to spec, etc), but indeed customer service complaints are very valid concerns. Thanks for bringing this to light, I'll have to do more research.

I was of the exact same opinion as well. Great marketing, good looking product that visually looks like time and effort was put into.
I keep thinking back to when I asked a sales guy what brand of electronics they got the most returns from, he said apple, but his next statement was we also sell 10 times as many so even for the same failure rate you'd expect to get more back.
Half the reason I'm here is to get opinions from people who have used and done things. I'm dubious of other people opinions when they are of an unknown quality, read Facebook. But when enough people chime in I start to worry. I'm sure someone on here has connections to Mantic USA.

The Mantic has been in my car for 3 years now with no issues. I will say customer service when I bought it was excellent. Geoff returned calls on weekends between his kids soccer games to answer install questions. When the Calimer stage 2 self destructed just after break in he helped me find a Tremec swap kit when they were backordered everywhere. . I sent the clutch back and he fit it with 26 spline disks which was far cheaper than a new clutch. I will by from him again when the time comes.

I got the Exedy Hyper-Single, but my second choice would be the Tilton ST line (fittings for both MT-82 and Tremec). For @Fabman I might look at the full-race 3-disc OT line vs the street-strip 2-disc ST line, but it might be worth a phone call to them to discuss particular application and get their recommendation for both disc count and facing material.

The hyper single has been great, especially for the kind of torture I’ve put it through.

Okay boys and girls, time for the latest installment of "What the hell is going on now?"

If you recall, at the last race the trans decided to stop shifting, costing me the win in full view of the checkered flag.
When I pulled off track I pushed in the clutch and the car kept moving. Clutch would not disengage.
It felt like a normal clutch, not like the hydraulics failed, it felt perfectly normal. Just wouldn't disengage.

Sooooo....I removed the s1sequential shifter, replaced the clutch with a new exedy hyper single, a new Ford factory original TOB and TOB spacer from KOHR. All matched pieces.
The clutch seemed to work fine but the trans was too damaged from grinding gears so I removed everything and had the trans rebuilt.
I reinstalled everything and now I get this weird screeching like a bad TOB but its a new Factory Ford part and it wasn't screeching before.
I had only driven it one block with all new parts and it was fine, it was just grinding the syncros. So I removed everything AGAIN and everything looks perfectly normal. I am at a total loss.
Any geniuses out there that can shed some light on this?
