What's the deal with the LS splitter?

Are you LS guys driving with the front splitter on? I want to add it to my '12,
but it says its not street legal. Is that a bunch of bull? Or should I forget about adding it?

thanks.

It's "not street legal" because it's a Ford Racing part that's not included in the NHTSA crash safety tests; strictly a legal CYA on Ford's part.

There is no danger to running it on the street, other than to your wallet, should you not exercise care on sharp inclines or near parking blocks.

Cool thanks. I don't have the concept of "wallet" anymore, so it's all good here....

I doubt it would pass pedestrian safety rules either, but I have never heard of anyone being hassled over a splitter unless it was part of like a Combat Civic kit.

Several companies do the extra parts in a box trick, Ducati does it with the exhaust and chip and iirc Porsche does it with the exhaust on some of their cars for example. They fully intend you to use it on the street, they just aren't allowed to say so.

Will it pass a safety inspection at a service station?

Skip the LS splitter and get the WC splitter instead. Unless your name ends in Schumacher you'll never notice the difference in downforce.

Does that one stick out as far as the LS one or somewhere between the stock boss and LS?

Will the World Challenge splitter fit on a 2013?

My guess is no because the fascia is different on the '13's.

In between the two. And it's less expensive too. ;)

Excuse me ? ;D
And it weighs less too which makes shipping less expensive.

Order the splitter through your local FRPP dealer, if you can. I was going to buy from CJPP but they wanted a $220 truck freight charge on top of the price!!!!!!!

I found the WC splitter cheapest here.

I like this one because its not whimpy like the stock boss and it doesn't stick out a country mile like the LS one does.

EDIT: Actually, when I checked the part # it looks to be a different part than the cjpony one FS47. So not sure if it will fit the '12 boss.... :-\

Yeah, I remember that photo. I think she did that on the corkscrew if I remember correctly. The regular Boss splitter is plenty for me.
