Ford Performance GT350 Billet Oil Pump

Anyone have any insight on this? I see it's recommended for race applications but I'm curious if this is a weak point on the stock voodoo motors?

This billet steel gerotor oil pump is designed specifically for 5.2L Mustang GT350 engines
Fits: 2015-2017 Mustang GT350 5.2L
  • Oil pump assembly with billet steel gerotor set
  • Produced by OEM manufacturer to minimum allowable tolerances
  • Pump assembly is pressure and flow tested with OEM procedure
  • Recommended for race applications

This is interesting!
On my S550, I installed new billet gears in my oil pump during my engine upgrades. I had read that they can explode when running high rpm's above 7500, so it was an easy decision to install billet while it was half apart.
What kind of RPMs does the 5.2 pull? and I would think the oil pump would be the same on the two engines?????

One must pull the old pump to replace with this one....so why not check if Livernois (others) offer billet gears and rebuild stock piece if you are worried?

Define worried...I've been told by FP and local Ford tuner/expert that billet OPG are critical for power-adder applications... is this you?

It's all about risk identification/mitigation...$$$.

Hmmm. I wonder why they would build a track inspired car without an oil pump that would withstand the tests of time. (Money I know)

Could all the rumors of OPG failures be true?
Not the same engine but we went through the same thing with the Boss 302s. For the most part if you are just doing track days you will be OK on the stock OPGs. If you're going to race, spend the (comparatively) small amount of money and upgrade to the billet ones.

The billet OPGs are also very useful if you are planning to add boost.

Doesn't the 5.2 flow more oil through the pump because it uses a different gear profile? So these would match the OEM 5.2 OPG tooth profile instead of the 5.0 tooth profile, right?

Nice find there! I visited this issue back earlier this year after reading of few OPG failures in our GT350s. At that time all I found were 5.0
applications (FP, TSS, Boundary, Livernois).
Two vendors ( Weir Racing & Stage 3 Motorsports) offered the MMR gears which they showed as both 5.0 and 5.2 fitment.
Given we have different oil pumps , I was skeptical . In the end, after viewing an install video I decided too labor intensive . IF motor is out....absolutely do it. Also, I don't plan on any major power adder such as FI .

I “think” the difference is the way the pickup is attached on the GT350 compared to a GT. Gears would be the same, but overall pump different.

With that said, does anyone know if this is stock on a GT350?

Looking to upgrade to this on a GT, but can’t find anything on if it has billet gears? Assuming it doesn’t and want to upgrade the gears at the same time.

Then the question is will these work, because it only list GT motors?

Help would be appreciated, thanks.

FP kit is standard on all Voodoos.

WRT OPG... call multiple vendors and ask their tech support folks. I never trust an internet ad.

Drew is correct - FP kit is factory fitment on Voodoos... sintered metal OPGs.

Hello Robert. My name is Matt how can I help you?
Robert says:
I am wondering if p/n M-6675-M52 will work on my 2012 Boss 302
Matt says:
It will fit all 5.2 and 5.0 coyotes. Our website lists fitment as well as more specifics about the kit
Robert says:
I am also wondering if the GT350 oil pump is a higher volume and/or pressure than the Boss oil pump....
Matt says:
It is higher pressure as well as a better baffled pan
Robert says:
Answered my question, thank you Matt....
