Has anyone been to a Wally Mart or Costco in the last 2 days? Folks are going delirious fighting over TP, sanitizer and water..... It's nuts!!! The next couple of weeks are probably going to get worse. o_O

Our local grocery store wasn't too bad on late morning Saturday, the only hint of the apocalypse was the toilet paper aisle. I went back last night and it was far worse - most of the milk, bread, eggs, and canned food were wiped out.

We went to Costco yesterday (Sunday) morning to stock up on food and supplies to begin our social distancing, since our kids are now going to be home for at least a month. Plus we needed dog food :) Our experience was definitely better than most of what we've been hearing from people in the nearby Bay Area.

We got there right when it opened. Our store had toilet paper available but only a small quantity of paper towels. They were limiting everything, or at least the popular items, to 1 per customer to prevent the hoarding - good for them! I wish all the stores had done that from the beginning. And there were only some items that were out of stock (rice, pasta, beans). Everyone seemed cordial enough, nobody overly anxious. We didn't need any toilet paper, but were in need of paper towels. We happened to pass by a nice lady who was giving her pack of paper towels away, as she didn't need the pack she had in her basket. She had gotten one of the last packs available before they ran out.

Anyone else been significantly impacted yet?

The whole toilet paper thing is hilarious! The freakin' virus is a respiratory virus, doesn't apparently affect gastro-intestinal at all. I dunno....maybe they figure they'll need to blow their nose so much that kleenex will be way more inconvenient than just unravelling a few sheets of bumwad?

Where I live there's been no impacts really, other than the fact that last week I was paying $1.35 a litre for regular gas and I saw prices as low as .74 a litre on the weekend! Woohoo! I need to find a 200 gallon drum and load 'er up with 94 octane!

It sounds like supply chains will be continually interrupted for some time to come. I hope that this resolves itself sooner than later.

I do not shop at those places. I support local businesses and they are full of supplies...

What are some examples of the local businesses you shop at in the Bay Area that are full of supplies Byron?

One is a place called Willows Market. Fully stocked and no lines. Another local market is Biancinis which is fully loaded. I even had a nice sandwich made from the deli. i try to stay out of Costco, Safetway, Yarbet, etc so I can keep the money local.

I've been waiting on a BMR front sway bar ordered on February 6th with an expected delivery between 2/24 thru 3/2 due to a design change. I'm going the assume they've closed down because I've sent two follow-up asking about anticipated shipment but have gotten no reply.

Thanks @Coz - not sure why they're not replying. I've dealt a lot with them over the years as they adorn most of my suspension. I'll call them on Monday.

As much as I usually curse the amount of Big Rigs on the Interstates....these days I have to admit , I'm kinda happy there still running!!

When I went with our driver across the US from PA to Long Beach we stopped at a truck stop, 1 of 4 in the cloverleaf, I counted about 1200 trucks in the stop we were parked in, so roughly 5K trucks. No matter what the cocunut renewable energy people think, this economy runs on diesel

I love diesel. We just finished an 11,000 mile road trip out to Cali and back. My old Cummins (06 , 5.9) is a beast.
40 rv parks,14 states , 8 National Parks, 2 oil changes and 0 problems! averaged 13.4 mpg. pulling around 8000lbs.
running around 70 mph. I think that's better than my Boss!! Came home a week early cause of Covid 19.
Now my wife and I are in 14 day isolation at home.rvandtruck2.jpg
