GT350 allocations and availability

Greetings all,

I cant take it anymore. I stepped down from a GB Boss 302 to a Focus ST in the best interest of mileage. What a horrible move and I have regretted the decision ever since. With that said, I'm speaking to a dealer regarding allocations and availability timeline on the GT350s. I'll quote the email I received today (not the date of this post):

Soooo, end of 2015? Ugh. I was hoping to have this by summer so I could "get my balls back!" :-\

I'll keep everyone updated with my progress on this.

Keep us posted. I don't expect to see the GT350 on the road until at least October 1, 2015 and it could be later than that.

BTW once the order banks are open we'll be able to track orders here on BMO.

Haven't come across anyone yet who correctly predicted the price of oil would drop by 50% in 6 months.

If only we knew...

Oh ye of little faith...and all the 'action' IMO was really in the last 3 1/2 months when it crossed below $90/bbl. Sold 100% of an oil REIT on 10/9/14. Played various oil related Puts all the way down on a leveraged oil ETF. It was a great end to 2014...

Ford even has notifications to Dealers not to take deposits or consider what their allocation will be until further notice. Working for the #2 Dealer in the Nation I wanted to send them a polite note and let them know I can't stop the calls , but nice idea in concept, ha. Feel for Straightliner as I thought about going back to a Spec Miata to run in NASA, but after running the Boss in Time Trials, I realized I could not go back that direction. It is going to be hard to decide if I want to step up to the GT350, yet it is also tempting to look at a GT with the GT package and Recaros as it lists for barely over 37K --- had two ordered. Makes a lot of choices for the future and pretty sure a Focus ST will be replaced in the future by one of these choices ,ha. Great car, but once you have had a Boss , it makes the future choices tough --thank goodness Ford is taking it's DNA into the future.

Speaking of Focues (Foci?) I just sold my Performance Blue 2014 ST3. Racked up 23K miles in 7 months commuting. Now I'm bombing my Father's Contour SVT while saving for a house. Ahhh the joys of growing up and becoming responsible... :p

23k in 7 months? Now you sound like my wife and I with her commute and our back and forth travel...we put 40k on our tiguan in a year and now have 20k on the latest passat we've had since July. [emoji106] I'm glad I'm not the one driving 100 miles a day lol

Hey Backorder,
Also have Passat daily driver (2014 TDI) and love the car for many reasons...mostly the mpgs which truly is 50 highway and 36 city and typical of our driving here on Long Island, but being a two-foot driver (add autocrosser, trail braker, etc.), I absolutely cannot break myself of the habit of occasionally hitting the gas and brake at the same time, which as you know, is the kiss of death with the DSG trans and brings the engine to base idle for at least a good solid three count. I'm sure a tuner type PCM could possible address this, but I trust VW electronics as far as I could throw them and don't dare flirting with voiding my warranty. Based on the miles you drive, I assume your driving an oiler burner as well, and was wondering how you deal with this.

I just received my Ford newsletter And it says GT350 available summer 2015, however I still have no info thru my dealer connections.

Early March '11 is less than 7 months from August '10 Boss announcement...So I'll be hopeful for a May or June Job 1. Order bank opening could be only weeks or a couple of months away...

Thanks for posting that Ron! Making me think the order banks and pricing announcement are imminent! Sticking to my previous prediction for now!!

dealers have been notified that there is a special program for the GT350. they'll have to pay a small annual fee for 2016 and 2017 and have a staff member get certified in the gt350..then they'll be guaranteed one gt350 per model year. (and they have to sign up in feb)
they were also told that allocations beyond the 1-per-year-per-dealer will be earned based on mustang share-of-nation sales. this is where big dealers benefit.
no word was given on ordering timing or overall build quantities.

Has anyone secured an allocation or put a deposit down on a GT350 yet? I'm sure glad I'm sitting the first year out. ::)

me, I suppose. I've not put down a deposit because my dealer is not requiring that, but I have committed to buy one...a gt350 at a minimum (I'd take the R depending on availability / timing). I envision modding the car significantly for a dual purpose street / track car so starting with the 'base' car would be sufficient.

I heard from my dealer the other day...I started talking to them about the GT350 in December. They told me that they have taken the necessary steps to insure that they will get their allocation that will go to me at MSRP. They haven't asked for a deposit yet.

Same here for 1st year. Now the conundrum, The new Cayman GT4, specced one for $90,350 with Sport Buckets, looks really good and would be a good replacement for my beloved 6GT3's but still want to see the 1st year teething pains for both the GT350 and GT4 before making a decision. Also $35k less for the GT350 is going to be a biggie and waiting until 2016 is going to be really painful as I don't have a lot of patience.
