The new stickers should be good for at least one second a lap!

Hi FDS:

Thanks for the alternative gauge pod tip! But in my case, this will be a permanent fixture on my 2012 Boss 302. Knowing this helped me justify the added expense of the Ford Racing accessory gauge pod unit with the OEM wiring harness.

I need to give a special shout out to TMO Member wwilde001 for his help in providing me with a .pdf copy of the FRPP instruction set containing Hi-Res Photos, and his own installation tips Word document. Both docs were most helpful in clearing up a few install steps that are somewhat lacking in the FRPP instruction set.

Next step? Cutting up the Dash Pad! (Hahahah)

302 Hi Pro

Make sure you use the proper tool ::)

Disassembled the Instrument Panel thas afternoon, next up is drilling the top of the dash pad. I have to pause here to think about how I want to position the LS gauge pod.

Do I want it as installed on the 2012 LS DP? Or, should I see if I can canter the mount slightly toward the Driver's line of sight? Guess I'll have play around with the positioning of the Gauge Pod and then sleep on it. I only have one shot at getting this right!

Have you considered angle rings to your individual gauges?

That is a great idea, but after looking at the pod, I think it's too tight to be able to tilt the gauge. Just kept it LS OEM style as they are there to stay.

Here is a view from my seat:

Still have to complete the wiring, but the OEM wiring harness get rock hard in cold weather, and it's tough to even separate wires in the cold. Need a few days of temps in the 50's.

Re: What did you do to your boss today?

Temps hit 60'degrees here two weeks ago and I was able to install my Ford Racing windshield banner. Actually forgot about this until I pulled the cover again this past weekend.

Waiting for the next heat wave so I can install my (now vintage) "BossMustangsOnline.com" rocker panel stickers!

Re: What did you do to your boss today?

Got my rear seats deleted. Didn't realize how difficult it would be to get the rear belts out. I'll re-attack that at a later date.

Re: What did you do to your boss today?

I took it out of the Bat Cave and drove it. I took the Boss to the Conroe swap meet. It was a good thing I already bought the Boss. There is a sweet '66 Fairlane GTA ProStreet car there for sale along with a couple of good deals on Fox Body drag race cars. There was also a '55 Ford big rig there that would make a great retro race car hauler, after a zillion hours and zillion dollars. But it would be cool.

Making progress on the LS gauge pack install. Wiring harness is run through out the car and I made up the new Oil Sending Unit wiring connector/plug.

Next up is the IP wiring harness splice. The instructions tell you what to splice, but give no indication on how to splice

Once this is done, it's time for reassembly.

Here in the Northeast, Boss season 2016 is just around the corner, and next up is the Cortex Racing Watts Link install.

Re: What did you do to your boss today?

Looks great, Hi Pro! Very nice work!! I had more than a little trepidation ahead of installing the Laguna gauge pod on my 2012, but now that it's in (and still working great), I'm so glad I added it.

Like I tell those 2013 owners, who needs Track Apps when you have the Laguna gauge pod?!?!

Re: What did you do to your boss today?

Woke it up from its sleep (and use the clutch and gas pedal to the floor and turn the engine over for 10 seconds or so before I started the motor) and got a new hoist installed. Got the hoist mostly for room underneath the car for the winter time for the snow blower, garbage can, recycling bins etc... (At least that's what I told my wife.) Probably have a lot of friends visit in the spring to install mods. Not a problem, actually don't mind helping friends out and of course making installs safe and easier.

Re: What did you do to your boss today?

Swapped out the 302R rear LCAs for the 302S rear LCAs I bought from @SCBoss and raised the rear roll center up about half an inch via the watts to cure some understeer issues.

Everything was going great until tightening the last bolt on my swaybar and the final nut is stripped. Had to pull the bar off and cut the head off of the mating bolt with a dremel. :-/

A trip to ACE Hardware is in my immediate future.

Re: What did you do to your boss today?

Thanks, I'm new to Watts Link rear suspension setups and looking forward to setting time aside to install mine.

As got What Did You Do to Your Boss Today?"

Post storage inspection, Netral Idle Relearn and drove the Boss today. It was a great day!

302 Hi Pro

There are differences in articulation with the diff-mounted propeller crank types (CorteX, Whiteline) vs. chassis-mounted propeller crank types (Fays2, BMR). The chassis-mounted ones are supposed to translate the axle more directly in line with the centerline of the vehicle as opposed to the plane of the ground. The diff-mounted propeller units seem to be a bit more compact with respect to overall hardware and mounting.

Which one is better in actual track use? I couldn't tell you as I've only run the Fays2--but all the PWC guys run the CorteX unit so that's a strong recommendation there. I'm not sure if anyone other than an extremely experienced driver could tell the (functional) difference between the two types.

Re: What did you do to your boss today?

Got brand new OEM 19x9.5 wheel with tire (Thanks FOMOCO302) for use as a spare. Clears front caliper buy maybe a 16th or less, but I have a 1/8 spacer that will live in the trunk with it. While I was waiting for it to arrive I installed the Ford Racing GT 500 front rotor shields.

Read a post about caliper mount bolt thread problems. (surfing posts to avoid issues is always a good idea) The shields came with new caliper bolts however they had way too much lock tite. I removed most of it and replaced it with anti seize compound. Running steel bolts into alum in a high heat area with lock tite is just asking for stripped threads sooner than later. Torque bolts to spec and not concerned about them ever coming loose.

Also I wanted to check the oil cooler lines for fouling on the sway bar Its close, maybe 1/8 or better spacing but no sign of contact. I would suspect lower cars could have some contact. That's enough for today.
