Need advice on possible cause of banging from front. Recently installed FP Track Handling struts and shocks w/BMR Track Handling springs (SP083), BMR Sway Bars (SB043), Steeda End Links, and Vorschlag camber plates.

When first installed I had severe banging on first drive. Determined cause was under torqued drag and lateral links. Re torqued and about 95% of banging is gone. Now, the only time that I get banging is when I am on rough roads and pushing hard or braking hard, banging is on compression. I have gone back over all fasteners that I had removed and retorqued to factory spec.

Photos attached here and any and all suggestions are welcome. Planning my first track day this month and no noise from suspension is the goal.

Ok, I will swap the links. I had a feeling that I had put them back in incorrectly.

Good eye on the brake line. I saw that while I was doing the work and it is on the to do list. Only the outside layer is cut, but it still needs to be replaced.

Appreciate your input.

Something else that caught my eye. Need you to confirm. Stock strut in first photo has link mounting points both front and rear of the strut. Drop link mounting to the rearward one.
In your photos it appears your struts only have one mounting point. Could just be the angle of the photos ? Is one of your drop links mounted to the forward point? as in the second photo. I can't tell if that was taken part way through the install.
Point i'm trying to get to, is the link hitting the strut because it crosses past the strut to get to the end of the swaybar.

Highly unlikely but are the camber plates old? It is possible(again…very unlikely) that the center bearing is worn out and has excessive play.

There are two mount points of the FP struts. The end links are mounted to the rear mounts on both sides.

Camber plates are brand new. Strut nuts are properly torqued w/locktite.

New brake line will be here in the AM. Brake fluid for a system flush will be here no later than Friday.

I am going to re orient the end links as per GAR944 as well making any adjustment as necesary. I think that this just may be the source of the banging. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Thanks for the help Gar944 & Bigsy. I will post when the work is done.

Ok, removed and reinstalled the end links per GARR944 instructions. Had to remove lower link zerk fittings to clearance strut. Was thinking that I could just install plugs. But clearance is extremely tight. Even plugs may contact bottom of strut.

My concern now is that did I also manage to install the bar upside down. Seems that it would clearance better and have less angle on the joint if the bar was flipped over?

Photos are center, full lock left, full lock right on right side.

Expert thoughts and opinions please.

That is really ugly. Below is the picture of my bars for reference of angles. Lower bar is the front. I have way more clearance.
Full droop and full lock is an extreme situation but even then it still "looks" wrong from any perspective.

Are you also sure you have the correct front bar. BMR Sway Bars (SB043) looks different.

I called and ordered direct from BMR. Cannot remember the fellows name, may have been Jason? He asked year model and knew that it is a GT. I had given him the p/n from their website and confirmed that it is the correct bar for the car.

It seems to me that if I flipped the bar the angle of the adjustable ends would be in a better position to clear the strut. Anyone have this bar on their car and could possibly send photo?

The bar in your photo has welded solid ends attached to a hollow bar. All the references i have found to your part number mentioned in your first post look different. The BMR website was playing up when i looked at it a few hours ago. Was looking for the installation instructions to see if they showed orientation.
Even if you flip the bar the clearance to the strut leg will still be way less than what is shown on the pics i have found and my bar.

Apparently it is possible to get it upside down. Surprised.

Yes. The way that I have it installed currently the ends are pointed slightly downward. By flipping the bar it will more closely resemble the photo in your post. Additionally, it will also reduce the angle of the ball joint on the lower end of the end link. I believe that will create more clearance between it and the strut.

It may be bar SB044 which is part of swaybar kit SB043R (SB044 Front & SB045 Rear). Definitely easy to confuse.

Managed to get into the BMR site now i'm at home. There appear to be 2 types of bars, 3 hole and 4 hole. The major difference i can see is the angle of the ends of the bar. The standard 3 hole ends a parallel to each other side to side. The 4 holes seem to angle outwards which appears to be the cause of the clearance issue.
I kept looking at your photo thinking that bar just needs to be bent further.

You are correct. Double checked my packing slip and receipt and according to it I received the SB043R kit. So the bar should be correct for my car. Going to flip as I believe that I installed it incorrectly.
