Ford Performance Track Handling Pack Help

Sounds like your "friend" at the dealership may be costing you more than he's saving you and likely put the lugnuts back on with an impact.

Proper torque for an M14x1.5 lug nut is in the 125-150 range. I've been taking mine on and off for seasons by hand at 15ft/lbs without any issues whatsoever.
He autocrosses his own s650. So I imagine he’s probably done the same thing to his own studs and he’s fine on track. Still gonna inspect them tomorrow. But my other friend who helped take off my wheels is saying just north of 150 is probably where they were at. I’m just tryna be cautious. Not tryna have a expensive bill sneak up on my at the autocross lol

Update:

Took it back to Ford to my buddy and took off the FP track handling pack strut/spring. Here’s the stock PP1(black) vs the track handling kit I bought used from my other friend who tracked his 2015 GT in NASA T2 (blue). Thought I could just swap the top mounts and also swap over the camber plates. Turns out I can’t. I’m sure in all of this there’s a lesson to learn lol. Keeping the blue ones on the car as I don’t wanna lose the ability to set camber. I’ll eventually move to coil-overs with time I just didn’t wanna fork out the cash currently, rather save to get wider wheels and tires first. So I guess my question is, is it possible to swap the blue track rated springs onto the stock PP1 struts, and then buy actual camber plates? Am I losing anything performance wise by not using the struts from the blue one? The top strut mount bushing on the blue ones are still worn out. Ideally I’d just like to replace that specific part, but I seem to not be able to find the damn part online so if anyone can link me the part I’d appreciate it. Also took off the tires, studs look and thread fine. He told me he torqued them to 150 so that’s that lol. Modding cars is fun :)))))

The answer to your question is yes. By doing this you will have from a front end kit what Ford calls their "Ford Performance Street Kit".
Since you are going to buy a set of camber plates, why not buy them for the F.P. struts? I'm not understanding something. Also your Ford service friend should already know this stuff. If he does not that's ok , I would not trust him as much as you do. IMO he is not as experienced as you may think he is.

ok I thought that too but after I made that post. As long as buying a new set camber plates will replace that worn out bushing in the top strut mount, than yes that’s what I’ll do. I didn’t run any of this by him as this was something I thought about after I left. Also yes I agree, he’s on the younger side. He’s the only person I know, I thought being he autocrosses his own s650, I’d atleast have a guy I know that can hook me up that also works on the same chassis as his own. Still new to the whole car scene and modifying cars so I’m still making connections or meeting new people/companies.

So if new camber plates is the way to go I assume you run steeda. Just lmk which brands to look at

Yes I do run Steeda. I chose these due to the fact that they only have camber adj. and I do my own alignments (Camber and toe). Since you already have a pp1 then I would also recommend the Steeda bump steer correction kit. A must for a dropped mustang.

View attachment 110465I'm a little confused by this image. It appears you alredy have BMR camber plates on the track suspension. You should be able to just swap the old strut mount over to the track suspension - if that's what you want to do.

If I do that though I don’t think I can’t put hose camber plates on the OEM strut? Either way I think a better solution is higher quality camber plates. Everything I’ve googled looks nothing like the one already installed. Rather get a nice one that’ll let me adjust on the fly at a track day

The friend you bought the track handling kit off of had BMR Caster camber plates is what it looks like to me on there...

What does your strut mount under the hood look like? Just bolts? Because you'll need the horseshoe looking plate too.

Yes it’s these. Only thing I don’t have the the horseshoe bracket that sits above the strut tower. He still has it on his car. Tryna have him give it to me but timing when we’re both free is difficult. He has a set of maximum motorsports brackets that sit above the strut tower he can give me for the time being but idk if it matters which brand it is or if it’s not there by the time I autocross the car on the 28th. I’m aware the bracket is to sandwich the strut tower, but being the stock PP1 struts don’t have this same bracket. I’m thinking not having that bracket sitting on top isn’t that extremely big of an issue?? Prefer to get the BMR ones off his car. He just never took them off not realizing it was part of the kit. But if the maximum motorsports brackets are better then none at all I’ll just install those for now u til he gets the BMR ones off his car.
