Hey everyone. I own 2012 Boss 302 #3101, and one of my biggest goals is to restore it back to its original Boss 302 form.

Unfortunately, a previous owner removed a lot of what made the car special. The factory side pipes are gone, several engine bay components are missing, the entire A/C system was removed, and—most disappointing of all—it didn't come with a Track Key.

The Track Key is probably the biggest thing I'm trying to get sorted because it's such an important part of the Boss 302 experience. I'm slowly tracking down the correct parts and bringing #3101 back to the way Ford intended.

If anyone has advice, knows where to source original Boss 302 components, or has experience restoring a Boss that's been modified by a previous owner, I'd really appreciate the help.

If the track key was previously activated you can get any non red key programmed to the car and use the feature.

If the red key was never activated I do not know of a Ford Dealer (and I am one) who can do it. The current generation of diagnostic software does not have that feature. It has been removed from the technician system for years.

Side pipe systems show up for sale used regularly on Facebook and other forums. The A/C system is the same as any other 5.0 S197 so parts are available.

What else is missing under the hood?

How is your second gear? The MT82 has its problems. I recently purchased a 2012 Boss with only 7k miles none on the track. Even with such low miles second gear is no good even though I installed an MT82 shifter. The original owner tolerated the second gear grind which ate the synchronizer. I am removing the trans and sending it to Liberty’s Gears.

Don't mean to be a grumpy old guy.... But what on earth about the A/C made the car what is was meant to be?? Even Track-key is not as good as a more up to date tune. Now if its for a show room then I can see the point, I guess.

Not sure if you just missing the side pipes, or the entire H-pipe system. There is a complete set on eBay right now.

Why in hell would you remove a/c system in a street car. It gets hot in these cars. I can see that in a track/race car.
Parts are around for boss cars. Allot have been wrecked totaled out.

Think you’re being a grumpy old guy. People have all sorts of reasons why they want a cars performance built and dialed in a certain way - much as you do.

I think that is my point! By all means install the AC back as its nice to have on the street. Make these cars how you want them to be (for you). But I would stay away from the red key if you track the car.
