Serious question here - all of the complaints I see are S550 and older cars.

Do the S650 cars have the same ICE mode complaints?

I haven't experienced it, but my track experience is limited and was on stock pads. I am posting in the S650 tech section so that S650 owners can chime in.

Interesting question. My hypothesis is just there aren't enough S650s being tracked to run into the brake bias issues triggering ice mode.

I share your hypothesis, but, well, every year there will be more, and this thread will still be here to collect responses, reducing the probability of a small sample induced error just a little bit more each time a new S650 hits the track!

14 hours of track time on my Dark Horse with all but about half hour of that in track mode (if it matters). Tires have been the 180TW Trofeo RSs, 200TW Falken Azenis RT660+, and 580TW all season Continentals (on my second set of wheels for road trips/winters). Mostly dry, but also some wet laps with the Continentals and the Falkens.

No braking abnormalities observed in that time.

Tracking a 500 horsepower car on 580 tw all seasons probably deserves its own thread somewhere. Sounds like it may have been exciting.

Learning car control on low grip tires is a good idea imo.

It isn’t. Slower times, can’t push the car as hard, but it’s pretty incredible how well the car does even with tires 40mm narrower and with that much worse of grip. The internal computer was still showing over 1G of lateral grip.

If anything, the Falkens in the rain were more exciting. These all seasons in the rain still got around 0.9 lateral G.

And here I have been wondering what to do for rain tires on a track day . . .

Caveat is that it wasn't pouring rain, every track is different, etc. But, we were all impressed with how well the tires did on that day in those conditions. It's been a bit since I've used them on track, though, last time was when my Trofeos ran out of tire and I switched to them (dry track) so I could still get more track time in.
