After much contemplating what route to go with the setup of my 2024 Mustang GT interior and with lots of information from various threads on this forum, I settled on the following for the track.

1. Watson Racing 4 Point Cage
2. Cobra Nogaro Circuit Seats with PCI slider mounts
3. Schroth Quick Fit Pro harness with sub straps (6 point)
4. NecksGen Rev2 Carbon HNR
5. Element fire extinguisher

I finally completed the install this evening. None of the items were that difficult to install by myself, but it certainly would have been more work getting the cage installed if I didn’t have a lift. I’m very happy with the way everything turned out and am excited to head to Barber at the end of the month.

How is the ride height of the seats vs stock? I sat in two S650's this weekend and the lack of headroom available is alarming since I'm 6-2 and getting a GTD.

That's interesting you would note the lack of headroom in the S650, as I was surprised at the ample headroom even with a helmet on. I'm 6'1" but have shorter legs and a longer torso, so I sit high in seats, and I had no issues with headroom in the stock seats. Granted, I do keep my seat lowered as far as possible and lean back some, so that helps.

Regarding the difference with the racing seats, they can definitely be made lower than the stock seats. I've changed the driver's seat from the Cobra Nogaro to a Sparco EVO XL, which is even lower since it has less padding than the Cobra. I have my seat mounted just about as low as it will go.

I appreciate the feedback. I sat in the GTD and a Heritage GT500 and both had the same issue. The GT500 is a few years old so it's not a brand new seat either.

Why the change from the Cobra to the Sparco?

While the Cobra Nogaro were ok, they were really tight for me. Also, they weren’t very deep, so while I didn’t slide around in them like the stock seats, I wanted a more contained feeling around my hips/legs. I sat in a bunch of seats and the EVO L fit me best for width in the butt/hips area, but the shoulder area felt narrow and the shoulder belt holes were not high enough. I have pretty wide shoulders and a long torso, but I’m not that large in the waist/hips. The EVO XL was not as tight in the hips/legs, but fit my shoulders perfectly. So, I went with the XL and added 1/2” of fire resistant race seat padding under the seat cover on both sides of the legs to tighten the bottom up for me, and it fits perfectly.

Thanks for the detailed answer. I'd like a seat that contains you better than stock, but still easy for street driving with the OEM 3 point belts. The Nagaro looks good because it's lower at the hips so the OEM seat belts would work better, but I would likely need the size of the EVO XL.

To bad they don't make the Nagaro in multiple sizes.

Love the look of the Cobra Nogaros. Did you have any fitment issues getting the new seats installed that required cutting part of the center console or other mods? I swapped out my stock front seats with some OMP seats but I didn't have enough clearance room between the center console and the new seats & seat belt receptacle (was using Planted technologies' seating brackets specifically meant for the S650), so ultimately I put stock seats back in. Also - any issues with the seatbelt dash light staying on or able to remove that somehow?

The Cobra Nogaros fit perfectly without any modification using PCI mounts. I’ve since swapped the driver seat out for a Sparco Evo XL to have some more side bolstering since it is a track only vehicle. The Sparco fits, but it’s tight.

If you want a simple way to shut up the seatbelt reminder, find a friend with a 3d printer and just copy your belt latch and make an insert.
Something like this, which works nicely on my 2017 belts. 2018 up is a different size, WHY??
Have forgotten to put my seatbelts in behind the seat when running normal harnesses and had to listen to the chime for a whole session. Thankfully the car was loud and it kinda got drowned out.

I've never done anything about the seat belt dash lights. I don't have the factory buckles installed, so a belt latch won't help. Since I have no factory seats or buckles it gives me a warning about a seat belt error then a question mark on the seating display popup, but makes no noise because it doesn't sense I'm not wearing my seatbelt. I have to press "Ok" to clear the error and seating display, then it is fine until I open or close the door. No issues once I clear the display, so I haven't even worried about using Forscan to disable it, although I may try that at some point.

Similarly, with the track seats do you have constant air bag light on dash from disconnecting the plugs under the seat? I had looked for a way to remove that air bag warning at the time but never was able to find anyone whom had success thru forscan or otherwise.

I get the small airbag light on the dash, but there isn’t any pop up message about the airbags. I have no issues with messages popping up while on track. It’s just the seat/restraint warning when I first get in the car that I have to clear by pressing “ok”.

It took some time to adjust the Nogaro on a Planted mount w/sliders to get the seat belt attachment point to clear in the GT350. This was due to the mounts though, not the seat. I bought a seat harness from a wrecker and made a custom loom for the seat. Removed everything except seat position sensor, seat belt receptacle, and added resistors in place of the airbag sensor. No dash lights.
Agreed that the Nogaros don't hold you as well as a full bucket but they are great for dual purpose street-track. I am 6'2" and have ample head room for a helmet but the seats are not the widest out there if you need more "horizontal clearance".

I haven’t taken the time to post yet, but I’m planning to sell my Schroth Quick Fit Pro harnesses with sub straps for both driver and passenger as well as the Nogaro seats. If anyone is interested, let me know.

I may be interested! I haven't sat in the Nogaros before but likely will be able to find a shop around my area to test those seats out and see if it works well for me, then can follow up.
