When the oil filter is removed, you get quite a bit more oil out of it than on other cars. Assuming this is the cooler draining??

Do you guys do anything different with your oil change / first start up than you do on any other car because of that?

I always fill the filter and crank with the gas pedal down until pressure comes up on my gauge. Then release the pedal and let her run. I do this on all my cars. I like to see oil circulating before the engine runs.
I don’t understand, if you hold the gas pedal down it will crank but not start? Sounds helpful, I never knew that. I’m at 200k miles and I don’t recall ever even touching the gas pedal when starting.

I think if you hold the pedal to the floor it sets the "clear flood mode" and doesn't fire the injectors. I know 90's GM products did that.

You got it. But at 200K, there's zero reason to start doing it now. I don't do it. I fill my filter on every vehicle tho. The number of revolutions spent cranking and waiting on oil pressure vs cranking and then it fires - I'm betting you can't count that low.
